The Painting
They say a picture paints a thousand words.
To me, we are all like paintings.
Each of us are painted a different color,
Like black and white or brown and pink.
Each of us has a nose, eyes, mouth, and breathes air.
We have black, brown, blonde, and red hair:
But why has it never occurred to human kind
That if we were to open our hearts and speak our mind
We may come together as one, and not be separated.
The painting is slashed and torn
As we fight one another.
If everyone would just stop and think,
No matter our religion, crimes, or nationality.
We are all the same, but different.
We need to stop the killing, neglect, and violence,
And put each other in one another’s place.
Maybe then we would see
That the only difference between you and me
Is something only viewed behind the scenes.
For after all, a picture only paints a thousand words.
So let’s take a look at the bigger picture.
