Part 2;
At the top, I got out my notebook, and proceeded to undertake the near impossible challenge to describe the breathtaking sunset over in the West. I raised my head. Jamie, my best friend’s boyfriend, was calling my name.
-‘Freddieeeeee!’ came the echo. ‘Oh Freddieeeee, dinner time!’.
Our tent was up, and Claire was laying out the plates. It had just started to snow lightly. I shivered. Pulling my fleece tighter around me, I went over to our shelter. Inside, my friends grinned at me.
-‘Did you get what you needed?’ asked Claire.
I sighed.
-‘No, not really… I have a mental block right now. Perhaps some food and a bit of rest will help…’
I didn’t understand. I come to the most inspiring place in this hemisphere, and… Nothing, with a capital ‘N’. Me and Claire decided to “hit the sack”, as Stevie says. We got all covered up, and cuddled together, for warmth. The tent quivered on top of us. I could hear the icy gale skim our tent at 110 mile an hour, the cold was like tiny jaws, biting into my skin. Little did I know that a few centimeters away from me, ‘outside’ (If that’s what you call it, only a layer of fabric), record temperatures going below 100°F were still to come.
