Nowadays everyone is always hooked on doing something inside the house. From being on the computer emailing, instant messaging or doing whatever on there. To playing video games, watching tv, listening to the radio or anything else with electricity. But once everything is shut off we start to realize that we need to do something else. We go outside. We finally take a moment to enjoy the nature that was always there. We finally stop being lazy and work on what's been neglected. To finally be active and play. To tell the truth I would very much like the electricity back on because it's too hot without a fan. But I can live a while without it. After all, we need to learn to not always rely on things, we must adapt. This blackout is doing some good because you would expect people to be outside already--mostly children because it's summer. But surprisingly I don't see them riding their bikes or playing tag in their backyards or in front of their homes. Instead they're indoor playing with their electronic gadgets. However, today everyone is outside in their backyards chatting and just relaxing. I don't see that everyday in my neighborhood so this was an unexpected blessing. The electricity is still off but lucky the emergency light in the porch is still on. So I'm writing this in a small notebook as it gets darker and enjoying the cool breezy with Nikki keeping me company. So really...all I have to say is take the time to just go outside and enjoy what's there. Don't take anything for granted.
