The big '10! The shouts of 2010 raised the roof at last year's pep assembly, from eager junior's spirit yells. Now it is finally time to win over the Blue Crew, who are just excited not to be freshmen anymore.
As a new senior, I am immediately aware of the perks. First of all, teachers, counselors, staff, and security seem to be more lenient. Probably because they remember their senior year. Second of all, my schedule is awesome!
0 hour government: starts at 6:30 AM, 6:45 AM on block days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Not so bad for me, becuase I am an early bird anyway. It is only a regular class, and I sit next to my friend Michael. My teacher has a funny sense of humor. I am going to post another journal of the funny stuff that happens to brave 0 hour students.
1st hour ceramics: Beginning the day with clay. We just experimented and learned about three types (earthenware, stoneware, porcelain), and how complicated clay working can be. The dust is filled with asbestos, so special cleaning precaution is needed. So far I made simple pinch-pot styled bells and bowls. Today I made a little tile that is supposed to represent water, and another for air. The water one was a fish with carved scales. The one for air is a feather, scraped using a certain tool.
2nd hour AP Calculus (AB)-the most intimidating class so far.....the first lesson knocked me off my feet.
3rd hour H Chemistry--I confuse people in this class, because I am the only senior that wants a science class. I figure it will be 75% of my pre vet studies in college, so I might as well get a teeny taste of it. ^_^' Most of them are sophomores. :3
4th hour AP English Language and Composition (rhetoric)--My favorite class this year, I think. My teacher has a fun sense of humor and gestures a lot. Also, this class will improve my writing tenfold. I already learned major components of a good structure in an essay. I also read really good essays I want to write about here on mibba.
5 hour--NOTHING! Ah, after lunch is a respite before AP spanish. This also means I can leave at 12:00 AM on Tuesdays. Or that I can leave for lunch and not be late for fifth hour. :3 Or I can do the day's HW before I go home. In the library they have good books, so I checked out a Vegetarian cook book. I am not a vegetarian (though I am thinking about it), but I like the soups in there. @_@. If I do go on some sort of diet, it may be pescatarian, like a vegetarian but the only "meat" they eat is seafood. Although I am still growing and I don't want to commit to something quite yet (novice vegetarians may not get enough protein, and I am skinny enough >_< wink . For reasons both for health and animal wealthfare. Also, I don't want to be like a poser, I already lived in CA and believe in environmentalism.
Pues, necesito estudiar vocabulario nuevo, mucho y mucho mas. Tengo unas companeras de espanol, y nosotros vamos a practicar juntos. Y es todo para hoy.
***I have AP spanish. I like my teacher, or Profe, and she is really young and speaks well for students who are learning spanish as a second language. The class isn't difficult yet. But the AP exam is, the meanest and longest of them all (4 hours). 2 sections of writing/reading, then speaking. That means I have to brush up on my vocabulary. :3 I have "spanish buddies" that I will talk with to help me, and vice versa. This is all for today!
Other than all that, I want to get at least a 3.5 GPA and exceed in one portion of the AIMS, so I can qualify for a scholarship that can pay my way through undergrad college! X3
Then, I want to work on my social skills, because I am shy. ._.
