Why am I still awake? I have no idea. I've been up for over twenty-four hours now.
It's Katie's fault for posting, lol. I haven't posted in aaaaages, and she had me looking in my journal yesterday...now I have the urge to post. Yeah!
So I've been desperately bored for the past week or so. I really want to write! So I've been writing...but I also want to interact with people! I really wish my role-play were moving a bit faster. I'm working on one of my own, but it's in the early stages of development. In the meantime, I've been writing little stories that, if everything goes my way, will never see the light of day. I just finished reading the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix (again) and have the overwhelming urge to write a fan-fic type novel about it. I'm not satisfied with the ending (as I wasn't the first time I read it)...so I just want to let my imagination run unchecked and come up with my own. And a little bit after that, too.
I know there's another book or something... Across The Wall? But I don't have it (the bookstore didn't sell it), so I should just content myself with writing about it. Except that my imagination is sadly lacking...
So let's see...updates...um. I can't remember when I last updated. I'm single! Was I single before? I had been dating a guy who lives in Ireland, but I guess that didn't work out. I've been through a semester of college in Valdosta. I'm not going back there, lol, because of some stupidness with housing. So basically I'm taking a break for a semester, then going back to college next semester, hopefully in UGA. I'm still not sure what I want to major in...but been looking at doubling in Astronomy/Physics. The thing is, I don't like physics that much...seriously considering just going into programming or designing with computers of some sort. I'm being coached through learning Python just for the hell of it...but since my computer got reformatted to win7, I lost my online book, lol. Gonna have to find it again...
Oh yeah!
So. While I was at college, at, like, the very end of the semester. Of course, I took all my notes on my uber Tablet-PC computer, since it was easier that way. But about a week before exams my computer just decided to die... I freaked out, naturally. All of my notes for the semester were on it. Somehow I managed to get some of them off my computer and onto a flash drive, enough to help me pass my American Government final, anyway. Thankfully, I took my Spanish notes on paper (since I was too lazy to use the right symbols and suchlike on my computer), English didn't use notes or even have a final for that matter, and I had printed all my notes for Anthropology for another person already. So...yeah. It was shocking at first, but it didn't turn out all that bad.
Except that HP customer service and/or tech support really sucks. I could hardly understand the person I was on the phone with, and had to repeat anything involving letters and numbers at least three times. My address many more times. And this was at like three in the morning, because that's when I noticed that my computer wasn't working right.
It happened like this. I was webcamming with (now ex) boyfriend, and things were going a little glitchy. My computer was going really slow (slower than normal), I was getting some glitchy stuff going on in my display, etc. I eventually decided just to hard-reboot my computer, because it was going so slow that it could have been considered crashed. I ended up waiting minutes between a click and the corresponding action, until finally my computer just wasn't responding anymore, which is when I shut it down.
When I turned it back on, I noticed it was running on battery power even though I was plugged in to the wall...which was why everything had been going slow when I had skype+call+webcam going. I had my computer set to power-save mode, which lowers performance on battery in an effort to extend battery life. I noticed that my power cable, though plugged in, didn't shine the consistent blue light it was supposed to, but rather it was flashing systematically, like a clock after a power-outage. It had never done that before, so I knew something was wrong and it had to do with that. After going through with my friend, we couldn't figure out if it was my computer or my cable that was the problem...but it really looked like my computer itself.
So I called HP and they wanted me to send my computer in. It took like two weeks before they sent it back...and nothing had fixed. Oh, but they reformatted my hard drive, without telling me or backing anything up. woo! So much lost music, documents, and pictures. Not to mention the ~20 gigs or so I had in other things that I wouldn't be able to replace without downloading. They didn't even fix my stuck/dead pixels. sad
So ya. Needless to say, I was unhappy, particularly when I had to buy my own replacement A/C adapter since apparently that wasn't under the warranty. Bah! Bah, I say!
I just installed the RC for Win7. It's like Vista, without the suck. I didn't have much on my computer yet (courtesy of HP), so I didn't care about reformatting the hard drive again. Can't say I'm disappointed with how things are now.
I played WoW a bit again for a while. It's completely EZ mode now. I was playing on an account with 2 80s, a 70, and a 69 on it already, so I started as a Death Knight. I got to level 67 on her before deciding to completely start over, since I still hadn't remembered much by the time I got that high. I don't remember what level that character got to...a blood elf paladin, anyway. For the Horde! I didn't play for long though, 'cause I was on someone else's account. They had all but stopped playing, so they stopped paying for their subscription too. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted, but now I'm playing Runes of Magic again.
I had a birthday. Woo, I'm nineteen! I don't feel any different than when I was eighteen. I got an iPod dock for my birthday. Jason got a fancy new iPod, much bigger than mine, and an iPod dock/alarm clock. I envy him. 2 gigs is nothing to me, nothing in terms of music. It doesn't even hold 500 songs. Ever listen to Dream Theater? You'd be hard pressed to find a song by them that's under five minutes long. Sure, a 2-gig iPod might hold 500 songs, if they were all strictly three minutes or less. I probably wouldn't be able to fit all of my Dream Theater on it, and that's just one band.
Man...I'm so tired. I don't even know how long I've been up...over twenty-four hours anyway. I tried to fix my sleeping schedule yesterday, too, but I ended up nearly collapsing from a combination of a crash after an energy drink+not having eaten anything. Today I've just had a ******** of soda. I think I'm going to sleep after I clean the living room though...my second wave has already come and gone.
So yeah. Night night!

But I totally feel special, admittedly.
You can always make a Barton OOC thread---I'd totally stalk you for one on ones.
