~ Sadness ~
Sadness is an emotion,
It dwells inside you,
Twists itself around your insides,
Then crushes them.
This is why you hide it,
You hide it with that quick crooked smile,
As you meet someone,
You hide it in that firm but weak handshake,
As you greet someone,
You hide it with that nervous laughter,
When by your friends,
You hide it in the rain.
Sadness will burst,
It can make you turn inside out,
You sit alone,
Cut your wrists in disdain,
Start to forget your own name,
Your lonely,
And scared.
You can't think,
Your mind is clouded.
You can't see,
Your vision is blurred.
You can't breathe,
Your throat is swollen.
You can't feel,
Your heart is numb.
Crying,
Crying by yourself,
You begin to wet your hands,
You feel self inflicted pain can only help,
You feel death is the only cure.
When you think all is lost,
A friend spots you,
They walk up slowly,
They crouch down by your side,
And hold your hand.
A warm bright light enters your heart,
Your blinded by the light,
You can no longer feel crushed,
Weak,
Nervous,
Alone,
Scared,
Blurred, swollen or numb.
You feel happiness surge through you,
They stand up,
And pull you up with a gentle hand,
You look into their honest eyes,
As they twinkle at you,
They tell you,
They love you.
Your sadness has fled.
