As the sky roared to life, thunder and lightning cascaded from the black clouds miles above. Rain pelted down to the earth with devastating force. Anyone or thing caught out in such an ungodly storm would soon regret being in such a predicament. Or so you would think. Towering from the center of a vast forest stretching far beyond the eyes limit to see was an odd structure. Completely alien looking in the surrounding environment. A pillar, plain to the sight with 4 white walls each 6 meters in length stood before who ever came upon it. There was no distinguishing markings and the surface of the structure was as smooth as marble but the rain that hit it creating a hollow sound that seemed to resonate into the core of the structure.
There seemed to be no apparent purpose for the structure, it held nothing atop itself, it seemed as though there was nothing below it in the earth so why was it there. Although amidst the seemingly perfectly smooth undisturbed face of one of the walls a door was visible. However it was far from easy to enter. The structure itself stood well over 200 meters into the air and roughly 3/4 of the way up the wall the door was situated. This meant only those worthy may enter, those with the power of slight or levitation, but in the world of shinigami entering such a building should be child's play for with the use of Air Walk there would be no problem. Although the alien design of the structure was nothing compared to the inherent construction of it. The mind would have trouble comprehending what the eye perceived.
After entering the doorway, the persons sight is greeted with nothing but bone white sand stretching for miles and miles in every direction seemingly unending it is nothing but a vast desert landscape with a warm climate. Rock formations break up the boring view of sand. The sky, if that is what it can be called is blacker then the darkest night and despite this fact the area is completely lit. This is due to the enormous moon that is present in the dark void acting as said sky. Its faint glow enough to light the entire area adequately.
Far off in the distance what look to be more pillars similar to the one the person is now standing in are barely visible. Although it takes a further days travel to reach them. After arriving there they are greeted with yet another peculiar sight. There are 10 pillars in all, forming in a circle and each one is slightly smaller then the one before. Carved into the top of each pillar is a seat and one would gather that this may be a meeting place of some sort. In the center of the pillars a figure stood dressed in a long white coat that reached and trailed along the ground causing the ends to become tattered and torn. Under that he wore no top thus exposing his bear muscular torso, upon each hand a glove is worn with an odd insignia of unknown origin displayed upon the back of the hand. His legs were covered with tattered hakama style black baggy pants and white tabi with straw sandals adorned his feet. At his side hung his soul, his best friend and entire reason for living, his Zanpakuto Zetsumei.
Blondy brown hair was animated by a light breeze that rolled through the area also causing his white coat to flap lazily around his legs. Why the man was in such an area was unknown to anyone. Seeming to be waiting for something or someone to appear the man simply stood unmoving with his arms folded across his chest and his head lowered slightly with closed eyes. This man was a shinigami, of that there was no doubt. One of a few allowed to wear a white coat that was almost identical to a captains Haori with one difference. Instead of the squad number on the back, the same insignia that was present on the gloves was visible. This man was Akiri Yamato.
