The bell rang a high pitched ring as the kids swarmed the hall ways of Oregon city High school. Most of the young teens talked among friends and made out in the hallway as they slowly made their ways through the halls to their next class. All except for one lonely silent art student. Daniel Wright was known by all of his talents and his silent reputation. He walked past the crowded friends and the lovely couples who sucked each others faces off. He was alone always alone and never really talked to anyone other then his drawings. He walked to his next class, the last class of the day Art.
Ryan was walking to his last class of the day surrounded by girls trying to get his attention and maybe a date. Luckily for Ryan none of these girls were in his next class, Art, he took art to try to get better at it.
Daniel was sitting in the corner of the room looking out side at the busy people passing by. He seemed almost miserable in his dark lone corner. The Art room was fairly big and held paints, colors, and paper and in the corner at the left side of the room where two giant sinks for washing utensils.
Ryan decided to sit by Daniel to be nice, he looked sad and depressed. People usually get all hyper and happy around him, so he thought it would help him. He sat down at the same table as Daniel."Hey."
Daniel looked at Ryan surprised that someone like Ryan, the most popular guy in the school was sitting at his table let alone trying to communicate with him. "uhh..hi..umm what are you doing?" He asked with a soft and silent voice.
"What am I doing? I'm trying to be friendly is all. Besides you seem sad and look like you need some cheering up."Ryan said giving his famous smile
Daniel raised his eyebrow to Ryan. He opened his sketch book and started to draw. "your fake little smile dosnt work on me like it does on the mindless drons in this school."
His smile dropped"I'm just trying to be nice. No wonder your always alone."Ryan peeked over and looked at his sketch book."Wow, your really good. You should be teaching this class."
Daniel jumped and held his sketch book to his chest and blushed. "uh..umm thank you.." His voice was almost a whisper. "um sorry im not really good with others.." He held the book closer to his chest and looked at Ryan.
Ryan raised an eyebrow, he's only seen girls act like this when girls had a crush on him and didn't know how to tell him. He smirked thinking it was the same with him, he put his hand on Daniel's thigh.
Daniel looked at Ryan and watched Ryans hand make its way to Daniels thigh. "umm uhh what are you doing?" He blushed slightly more. His now smooth cheeks red from the blush.
"I've seen that look before, its a look of crushing on someone. Are you crushing on me?"Ryan asked rubbing Daniel's thigh slightly with his thumb.
Daniel looked at him silently and ignored the question. "can you move your hand please?" he looked at Ryans hand and held his sketchbook close to him.
"Fine."He moved his hand and ignored Daniel the rest of the class. Did his charms and looks really have no effect on him? Ryan was truely puzzled.
As soon as the bell rang for class to end, Dylan blushing, gathered his belongings quickly and rushed out of the class as fast as he could. The other kids called out to him, telling him to watch it as he pushed through the crowd.
Ryan ws still in shock as he walked out of the school ignoring the girls and his friends as he started walking home.
Daniel got home as fast as he could and went to his room. His mother and older brother watched him rush up the stairs and shut the door behind him. "gah i cant believe him!" He collapsed onto his pillow.
When Ryan got home he was still dazed about Daniel. He went down to the basement, which was also his room, laid down on his bed trying to figure out how he can get Daniel to like him. And as he thought, he realized that the Daniel ignoring him, actually was making him more interested in Daniel.
Daniel laid limp on his bed not moving and barely blinking. He was tired but could not sleep, Ryan was still on his mind. Daniel sat up and grabbed his sketch book and a sketch pencil and started to draw Ryan's unique form. He focused on Ryan till midnight when he finally drifted to sleep.
Ryan went to bed at midnight as well. But wasn't sketching like Daniel was, he was up reading three of his favorite books. The next morning Ryan showered, ate breakfast, then headed to school. Ryan was even happier today then normal, today he was getting a car.
Daniel got up in the morning, showered, ate breakfast and walked out the front door. His house was only a block away from Ryan's and school was something of a mile. He walked it everyday and was always late to his first class. He started walking to school, he kept his head down and his bag close to him.
Ryan was late to his first class as well but he usually did this on purpose. He hated his first class, he would be surrounded by annoying girls and he could never focus.
Daniel always walked the same route he would sometimes stop at the mini store not to far from school and buy something for lunch. "hmm what do i want today?" he looked through the products carefully trying to find what he wanted to eat that day.
Ryan was at the mini mart today looking through the sodas, picked one, then started to look through the chips.
Daniel wasnt paying any attention and accidentally ran right into Ryan and fell. "oh my goodness im so sorry are you alright?" He looked up to see Ryan's face and blushed softly. "i uhh i...im sorry.." He picked up Ryans chips and handed it to him.
"yes i do...and thats the only reason why i stay in school..." He looked down and laid his head down on the desk.

"Then let me tutor you and help you get into some of those great art schools."
"when.." He mumbled under his breath.
"When ever you want me to help you. We can either do it at my house or yours, just not at school."
"why not at school?" He looked at him. Suddenly all the girls from that class came and sat next to Ryan claiming they needed help from him while the other Junior was ignored.
Ryan told them that he was busy helping Daniel and that they should ask the other."Because of that."
"ah.." Daniel looked down. "umm how bout my house after school?" He blushed.
"Sure, I'll meet you in the front of the school."The bell rang.
"thank you.." Daniel got up and left the classroom. He started walking to the art room by him self.
Ryan talked to a friend of his, telling him how he can't hang out today then sped up to walk with Daniel.
Daniel stopped and looked at Ryan, "your walking with me?" He blushed.
"Yeah why not. You might be a freshman, but your pretty cool."
"it's probably not good for your reputation if you hang out with me.." He looked at him still blushing.
"If people ask why I'm hanging out with a freshman, I'll tell them that your an artist and I'm modeling for you."

Daniel held his sketch book to his chest. "would you?" He looked at him.
"Model for you? Sure I've been told I have model like features and be great at it. So I wouldn't mind."
Daniel blushed and walked faster into the class room. He got to his usual spot and took out his art supplys. "have a seat" Daniel looked at Ryan.
Ryan took a seat in front of Daniel."Any way you want me to sit?"
"just relax and be you" He smiled. "and you dont have to stay still" He took out the drawing of Ryan he was working on last night and then pulled out a new piece of drawing paper and started sketching.
"Oh okay."He relaxed a bit more, he pulled out his cell phone and started to text his friend hiding it from the teacher.
He laughed. "your so funny, your trying to hide your cell from a teacher?" He drew him slowly and focused. "you dont have to.."
"Never know when a dean or the prinicple might walk in. Trust me I learned the hard way freshman and sophomore year."
"they never check the back." He glanced up at Ryan, "trust me i know."
He smiled, and it was a real smile."Okay."He held his phone so it wasn't hiding it.
Daniel blushed and was able to capture it as he smiled his real smile. "I've done it millions of times.." He took out his cell and took a picture of Ryan. "there now when you call, your picture will pop up." He smirked.
"Oh? You have my number?"He asked smirking slightly. Ryan handed his phone over to Daniel."Give me yours."
