Appearance: Dark brown hair and full beard, blue-gray eyes. Clothes consist of a wool coat, long sleeved linen shirt, wool cap, thick pants, and a heavy cloak. His boots and belt are made of well-crafted leather. He has an armlet made of bronze that suppresses his demonic powers.
Personality: Fearless, friendly, and helpful.
Background:
Birth and Childhood- His father was a hunter and his mother was a farmer’s daughter. He learned both trades, and was ten when the First Demon War began. When he was five, his demonic powers fist emerged. A local priest teamed up with the local blacksmith and forged a magical bronze armlet that held the dark power at bay. He joined the military along with his father. As a new recruit he received his composite longbow.
First Demon War- He was sent to a small holdfast called Dawn Stone, where he saw a little action when a small detachment of petty demons led by a vulture-like monster raided the holdfast and were dispatched at the expense of one quarter of the troops’ lives. He joined the Slayers, a Special Force of Rangers dedicated to destroying demons after hearing of his parents’ deaths. He was fifteen. He acquired several top of the line pieces of equipment as a soldier here, including his swords, dagger, and armor.
Beatrice- He found a half starved dire wolf pup while ranging with his squad. He was allowed to raise it, providing he took exclusive care of it. He raised, trained, and made the wolf his companion. He called her Beatrice, which she did not object to.
Second Demon War- At the age of eighteen, he had attained the rank of captain and commanded a small unit of troops on his own. In one major battle, his troops led a dangerous charge to get to the general. He and Beatrice hacked a way through the bodyguards of a demonic general, and Lou found himself in singe combat with the general himself. It was a balor, 12 feet tall 4,500 pounds of pure evil incarnate. He held a whip made of fire in one hand and a sword that looked like a bolt of lightning in the other. In this battle, Lou’s bronze armlet was split and fell off his arm. With his demonic power finally unleashed, he managed to kill the general. The demonic army was vanquished soon thereafter.
After the wars, he was able to repair the armlet. However, his heritage was discovered, and was not able to continue being a soldier due to it. He and Beatrice were exiled. They have been traveling ever since.

1. Composite long bow- Built from laminated wood, horn, and bone and built with a recurve, this is Lou’s primary weapon.

4. Adamantine dagger- Adamantine is found only in meteors or in the rarest veins in magical areas, it is sometimes called star metal. This ultra-hard metal is able to pierce all but the strongest of armors easily. Lou calls it a last ditch weapon, and useful for other purposes, like fletching arrows, cutting meat, and skinning kills.

Mithral Hauberk- Mithral is a special metal that is lighter than steel but just as hard. When worked into armor, it weighs half as much and is the metal of choice for Elven metalworkers, who have made armor that is so light one barely feels it. Perfect for spying, it is nearly whisper quiet.

Bronze Armlet- Covered in runes and covering his right forearm, it serves two purposes. First off, it protects his shield arm from damage and secondly, it keeps his demonic powers at bay. It can be removed at will or by force.

Animal Companion: Lou has a she-dire wolf as an animal companion named Beatrix. She is the size of a horse, 9 feet long, and weighing some 800 pounds. She is wary of most others she sees, unless Lou tells her its okay. If anything is a threat to her or Lou, she will not hesitate to tear it apart. Once she is sure someone is "okay," she will remain loyal, as long as they are not "bad." Regardless, she will only leave Lou to occasionally hunt.
