Her short black hair rustled in the wind and her eyes glowed a soft crimson. She was ready to fight. She pulled out her bow and arrow and aimed an inch above her target. Better to get it because of the lag. She inhaled and held her breath. Better safe than sorry. She tensed and let the arrow go. It soared through the air and she ran right after it. To be there when it hit, making sure that her target was dead. She was graceful in her approach to the vantage point. Her footfall was silent and barely rustled the leaves. She stopped a few meters away from the target. It was dead. A single arrow in the back of the head of a three-tailed, full grown mountain leopard. This was to be her dinner for tonight.
later on that night...
The small, black-skinned, female elf was skinning the large leopard by a roaring fire she had lit. A rustle in the trees above startled her. She quickly turned to see it was only her fox resting in the tree. She shook her head.
"You silly fox," said the small ten year-old child. Her eyes glistened in the fire, a dark green. Calm and at peace. She continued to skin the animal.
Later on as she dozed off by the fire and her fox cuddled beside her leg. she began to dream of her home.
'Aris, my dear child. Come here to your mommy,' said a beautiful and white figure. A small and scrawny pitch black toddler stumbled over to this angelic form. Aris, the black toddler, cooed in the sunlight of the open terrace. Aris tumbled into the arms of her mother, the high priestess of the Elves.
'Now who is my sweet baby girl, eh?' Her smile was radiant and Aris was baffled at this beautiful creature before her. How could this Coal-colored child be the offspring of such a beautiful creature? Aris grabbed at her mothers necklace, the only thing that was red and it stood out on her swooping V-lined dress. It rested in between her collarbones. She grabbed it and the chain broke. and as it did,
