Now they've done it! They've actually launched a neclear bomb! We had no idea they had one. I say they got it from someone else! There's no way this war can go on much further... We both lost over 3/4ths of our ranks! There's no way we can go on! In fact, the war is over, and both the Gritts AND the Clusters have lost. I was out in the nearby woods, searching for survivors. I sent my remaining troops to search as well. Before that, I was going to send a second squad of my best people (for they are not all men) to kill the Gritt leader... ...Before the explosion, I was in the enemy base, about to kill the Cluster's leader, when I blacked out. The next thing I knew, I was searching for troops that survived the damned missle. It was snowing very wildly when the missle struck, so I had to wear clothing to protect myself from the cold. I left the mop up of the radiation to my research team. They were quite helpful.
Anywho, as I was searching for survivors out in the middle of the forest, a lone Cluster yelled out to me from the dense fog.
"Sir!" he yelled, "I've been looking everywhere for you! Have you found any comrades?"
Just as I was going to respond, a Gritt came out from behind me and said, "Commander! Did you kill the enemy leader?!"
I turned, and they saw each other. They saw each other's uniform, each other's shocked, then enraged faces. Quick as lightning, they both took out their weapons and aimed at each other's head.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!" I exclaimed.
"Who's this!?" the Cluster interupted.
"I'm your executioner!" responded the Gritt.
At once, they both yelled, "Just Give the order and I'll..."
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!!" I repeated.
They both put away their weapons, still holding them tight while in their holsters.
"Why..." said the Gritt, his breath coming out white as the snow at every word. "Why did you call him SIR?" He finished.
The Cluster responded after a few moments, "I... should ask you the same..."
My head was pounding at the moment, I knew I should've killed one of them, but I did'nt know which one. Both sides had also asked for a temporary truce after the explosion.
They both redrew their weapons, but let them hang lazily on their sides.
"So," began the Gritt,"How do you know if he's YOUR leader?"
"He wears that thing on the side of his shoulder," responded the Cluster, "How do you know he's YOUR commander?"
"He has that thing sown on his other shoulder. Is he one of your clones?"
"No," the Cluster quickly said, "he's the original"
A long moment passed, what seemed like forever to me. The wind hissed, and hit me hard in the face. Our clouds of breaths and the snow were the only things that were moving. All was silent, as if I was deaf.
I blinked for a moment as I heard a gun c**k. As I opened my eyes, I saw the Gritt aiming at me with his pistol. The Cluster was loading his rifle.
"Son of a b***h," said the Cluster calmly, putting in the last bits of ammo in his gun, "you knew about this the whole time did'nt you?!" He exclaimed as he rested the barrel of the gun on his other hand and aimed at my chest.
