From the work log of ODST Sergeant, Joe Skelling

A few hours ago i was upon the spirit of Fire briefing my squad on our latest mission on reach, Arrow and Burnside were sitting in front of me and Malis was leaning against the wall sharpening her knife on her bracer.
"Right this is a pretty simple job, covenent and UNSC troops are engaged in fighting in the mega-city of Barton, the UNSC in the city have called in reinforcements and were all thats spare," I pointed at the screen "This is where we're dropping so get your kit together, you have half and hour to be armed and ready"
"You got it Sergeant" said Arrow getting up and walking out "see you in 30"
"Sarge, you want me to bring Bertha?" Asked Burnside, Bertha was Burnies flamethrower that we managed to rig to fit in a pod
"Thats a good idea Burnie" I replied, Malis stopped sharpening and looked over
"Sergeant, if we're fighting in close combat we should be bringing shotguns and machine guns not flame throwers?"
"Malis i know how much you like to get stuck into the middle of a fight but i want you behind with Arrow and cover us, Burnside will be tackling the front and i'll be with him."
"ok Sergeant but i dont like it" said Malis as she walked out
