A short girl with long golden locks walked up to school gate, with her bookbag slung over one shoulder. Yup, that short girl was me. The gates were open, so I walked in, looking around. I was not dressed in any special clothing, at first glance you wouldn't think I was a poor Estonian girl. I walked into the school and walked to the first class on the first day of my first American school. Don't get me wrong, I know english as good as Estonian. I wasn't going to be all "Tere! Vaga plees school, no?" in everyone's faces. I was going to keep quiet, actually, and just kinda leave everyone alone. Anyway, back to the point. I walked in to my first class, and looked around. There seemed to be just one open seat, so I walked over and asked to sit there. The boy sitting by it looked me up and down and replied, "Oh yeah." So I sat down, and waited for class to begin. "My name's Angelo, what's yours?" Now believe me, he didn't look at my face, and I'll tell it as it is. He looked at my nunga-nungas. "Iridan." I said, not looking at him. He looked strangely lustful, like he wanted to do me. It was really quite disturbing. He continued watching me until one of friends, who's name I found was Anthony, started talking to him. Whew, that was really scary.. I thought, frowning.

After the rest of school (nothing very special or important happened, Angelo was the only person I'd met that day.) I went home, walking. Angelo was walking with me, and he babbled on about slam dunks and touchowns. At last we came to the point where he turned one way and I turned the other. Finally. I thought. After we turned, it felt like I'd just turned onto my street, though of course I hadn't. I unlocked the door and walked into the empty home. My sisters weren't home yet, I was here by myself for a while. I got out my headphones and began doing homework. When I got to a song I liked, the sound of my voice comforted me as I sang. I finished my homework and Angie was home. "Do your homework!" I called without so much as a "hello."

All my sisters were home, but my parents weren't. My parents were never home for suppertime. It was always just me and my sisters. As I added spices to our meal, I pondered over all the things that happened today. I took in the scent of all the wonderful things in the kitchen. I think of myself as a wonderful chef. In fact that's what I want to be when I get older. But the kitchen is where I find myself at peace, where I come when I need comforting. Even if I'm not cooking. It's always warm and cozy in there, and it makes me smile every time I walk in. As a finished making dinner, I called everyone down for it.Carry ran down the stairs so fast she almost fell flat on her face. A laughed and served her a plate, she loves my cooking. I don't know why, she hates eating out. She'll only eat out if me or my mom packs her something to take to the resteraunt. My little sister is just wierd that way.
We all ate in silence, my sister Angie had her iPod blaring in her ears. Angie had golden locks like mine, but she refused them short. She looked wierd to me because she straightened her hair. Mine was left curly, I didn't mind.Carry and Janie had long blonde hair, they got that from my mom. Me and Angie's hair was from our dad. I loved it. Angie hated it. Janie broke the silence. "Carry made a cute finger painting today." Janie was in the fifth grade, though, she'd already hit peuberty. Angie gave a sarcastic tumbs up , finished her dinner, put her plate in the sink, and went back upstairs to her room. "It worries me she does up there." I said, making Janie laugh. "She is in sex ed." said Janie. At this I laughed.
After dinner, and after all the girls finished their homework, and also after my parents got home, we all went to bed. I tucked Carry in, And said goodnight to both my other sisters. Angie Gave a small moan and her light flicked off. I knew she had her phone out and was probably "sex-ting" some guy she met. How much can a mischevious 14 year-old do on a Saturday in Vegas? Oh my. She's probably spent half the money she'd got her birthday. Yesterday was actually a good day though, no matter how much trouble she'd be in if our parents found out. I laughed quietly to myself and drifted off to sleep.
