Light fades from your eyes,
your far off smile searching the skies.
Pulse ending with a final beat,
ironic the battlefield delivered your unexpected defeat.
Though in the war I still stand,
a vengeful lust with sword in hand.
The kind of partner you may receive once every other life,
taken swiftly with in a final strife.
Vendetta for the loss of a fallen friend,
though whom knows how it’ll be in the end?
A feeling so foreign, such forlornness… I’ve never known,
lonelier than a rustic castle of solitary stone.
Making an unexpected blow,
my fiery and drive surely shows.
Pain of fatal wound,
I carry on knowing I’d be with you soon…
And though it wasn’t all I’d asked with that final swish,
to die by your side would be my only wish.
So it seems it was granted as well,
it was all over but that was just swell.
You were all that ever mattered to me,
and though it was early I was fine with thee.
It’s the fate of the blood-soaked warrior,
destined to one day fall just as others have before.
Never would I have thought such valiance to be so beautiful, yet so sad.

"Every word, every thought, every sound
Every touch, every smile, every frown
All the pain we've endured until now
All the hope that I lost, you have found"
