I'm home.
Once again, I have sat my feet on danish ground. It is a strange feeling indeed. Far more, than i would have expected.
After one year in a foreign country, you might expect to feel quite familiar upon return. But no, rather it seems that my motherland has grown foreign to me!!
Suddenly it occurs to me what a guttural and displeasing language danish is. Suddenly the rudeness and coldness of the people annoy me like it never has.
I truly miss my always smiling Japanese friends, but at the same time I do welcome the laid back attitude here..
Well, all good things must come to an end. That's what my wonderful hostmom Takami told me.
I have learned a lot. A new language. A new culture in which I can behave myself.
But even more than that, I have learned the importance of friends and family. On the homepart, of course. Oh, how I have missed some of them!!
..But also between cultures. Intercultural friendships, you could say.
Friendship is a bridge that can cross any barrier, be it of language, culture, religion or.. well, name one to which this doesn't apply.
Anyway, it's getting late.. So a goodnight to the world!!
