It started in seventh grade. That was the turning point for me and I'm not going to ever forget it. I remember before than that I never gave much thought to writing. I pretty much avoided it and to me it was just an assignment to be done. But it was with a teacher (she was my six grade teacher but than she became a creative writing tutor and visited my Literature class to give us an assignment) that helped me realize that I CAN write when she pulled me aside. Since she was my previous literature teacher she knew how my writing skills were like and she told me that she was proud on how much I've improve. At that point I was surprise to even know that I improve at all since I didn't do anything different. But she told me that I put a lot of thought into a simple story that made it feel real and that my grammar improved greatly. After that, I've gotten interested in writing in general. And with every writing assignment I was given, I took it serious and made sure I did my best. I love it now. The reason I write is because I can. I can create things and make them my own. I can make them as real as possible and have people become sucked into it. Sometimes people just don't know how great writing is until they realize somehow that there's more to it than just being an assignment.
