Kiyo's full name is Kiyome. Kiyo = 清 Kiyome ＝ 清め
Kiyo means = Pure Kiyome means = Purified
Murasama 村様 means = troubled village
Kiyome went through four different names: Ryouichi, Kiyochi, Katara, and finally, Kiyome.
Kiyo's hair is actually based off Rukia's.
Kiyo is tall for a Japanese girl, but not freakishly tall like Isane, the Squad 4 LT.

Kiyo's Feelings About Her Zanpakutou: Ryouchi, a.k.a. Kage-Shirogane
"Well, I've always been someone who enjoys the simple things in life. I've never liked looking flashy, but being flashy. I guess that's why my Zanpakutou is so... compact. Even my Bankai's pretty small. I'd actually be pretty damn disappointed if it were insanely huge. I actually don't think I could carry it... But Ryouichi Kage-Shirogane's partner. I need her, and she needs me. That's that."
"Why shadow manipulation? I'm not really sure. The shadows do seem to be a sad place sometimes, but remember that they wouldn't exist without the light. One thing I do really like about shadow manipulation, however, is that I'm always coming up with new techniques. It's something that takes forever to perfect, and that way you know you'll never get rusty."
