Elephant Graveyard?
"Elephant graveyard?" Dai asked. "Holy crap does that sound fun!"
< Fun indeed, > Flan replied sarcastically. < The graveyard seems to be about a mile northwest of here. > "Looking" Se-Rox and Dai over, Flan said, < My legs are too short to keep up with either of you so I'll need to ride on your backs. >
Suddenly, several creatures appeared around them. [1]
"Um...these don't look like normal Serengeti animals I've seen," Dai said. "Wh--"
< SONOFA -- > Flan exclaimed as she was lifted off the ground by one of the flying creatures.
"Flan!" Dai exclaimed, leaping after the captured meerkat. Snarling, she sliced the creature carrying Flan out of the air with a forepaw. Picking Flan up and setting the meerkat on her back, Dai tensed for another attack and asked, "Are you okay?"
< I can't see through their eyes--and there's nothing else within visual range for me to see through besides you! > Flan replied. < Mole, what the hell are these things?! >

Explaining
"Very well," n** said, nodding. "Beam us up, Sco--I mean, Taran." [2]
Once they were beamed aboard Taran's ship, n** turned to the captain. "Set a course for Mark 424.4, the Alpha Sol star."
"How do you know that?" Broden asked. "You've never really been off planet before."
n** looked at Broden.
After several minutes, Broden said, "Forget I asked."
Looking back at Taran, n** asked, "Is there somewhere aboard where Rose and I can speak privately?"
"... Sure. You can use the Captain's Study, right through that door," Taran replied, gesturing to a door to the left of the bridge. "Anything I need to know?"
"...Girl talk," n** replied, grabbing Rose's arm and pulling her into the Captain's study. Once the door had shut behind them, n** said, "Computer, whatever your name is, please go to privacy mode. This is for Queen Rose's ears only."
"Private mode activated," DOS's voice said from the room's speakers.
Waiting a few seconds, n** turned to Rose. "So...It's Nogard who kidnapped Nogard. An alternate dimension Nogard who more than likely will know what Broden's capable of--mostly not being able to harm her because of sharing a face with the Nogard we both know. I'm hoping--betting--she won't know about yours, Taran's powers if he joins us, or my own powers. I'm going to need your help because this star's sun is so strong, it's going to pierce through my magical barrier protecting me from normal UV rays."
"You're welcome to tell Taran, but do not do it in front of Broden," n** said. "He's suspicious enough as it is and I'm breaking all kinds of protocols, procedures, and policies not informing him as he is next in command after Xangord. [3] But in this case I can make a judgment call as he is not fit to run command."
"So. Questions? Comments? ... Emotional outbursts?" [4]

Suspicions
When Rose and n** locked themselves away in the Captain's Study, Broden frowned. He didn't like this. n** was being far more secretive than normal. What did she know that she wasn't letting on to him about Nogard's disappearance?
Straining to break out of his reverie, Broden looked over the bridge. "Nice ship."

[2] If you don't get the slip, then you're not a very big Trekkie.
[3] Not just the Dynasty P's, but Dragoon P's too.
[4] This always gets said in my weekly team meetings in just this way and it's struck me as odd.
