Our story so far...
Cross, a young man sent by his commander, General Arkydan of the Alxian Emrates, to exterminate nests in the Ceris Town-his hometown before the Dark Hearts' attack- finds himself staring down a hideous beast- a gladiator Dark Heart.
But, before the beast finished Cross, a young woman named Miress pulled the trigger to it's head. She, and five soldiers of the Alxian Emrates, were also sent out to exterminate the nests. Doing so with ease, she helped Cross to a shelter-a cave in the ground. To their respective luck, Cross' SOS beacon was sent off, calling the attention of a huge Dark Heart- a Mother Dark Heart.
With the calling of this beast, a boy named Aurellum's attention was caught, drawing him to help the dynamic duo.
During this battle, Miress was impaled with an arrow that nearly ended her.
Cross managed to use his powers over metal to his advantage, knocking the Mother to the ground and rushing to assist Miress. It is here that they duo officialy meet Aurellum. Strange enough, Miress is fine with a matter of minutes. Confused, Cross questions her magnificent power, to no avail. Miress then decides that the newly formed trio moves south to Rouge to visit the Fountain of Emote, a great fountain constructed for Alxian gods. They make it to Rix, Rouge's main city, overnight, and sleep outside its gates. When they awoke, the building they had sought refuge in tumbled, nearly killing the three of them. Narrowly avoiding death, the three travel past the gates of Rix, seeking food. Unfortanately, Cross' darker nature caught up to him, blood-lusting over a girl named Star. Now he lay subdued at Aurellum's hands, restrained, and Star in the most dangerous part of Alx- the Forest of Icekus...
Having returned to the Rix's borderline, Star gets another unpleasant suprise; Cross is still mad for her blood. But, as quickly as the ordeal started, Miress and Aurellum end it. Now, having eletrocuted Cross and healing Star, the ever elusive four start to head south, towards their destination; Fort Emotion... Though the four seem to be headed for the Hourglass Isle, a string of islands outside of many beings' knowledge.
While journeying south, the four find themselves looking at a fearsome beast, ready to pounce...
But in an instant, it vanished, leaving the four to walk to the borders of the Lumarian Sewers and RougePort's Docks. They spend a night at an abandoned mansion about two miles north of the Docks. As they wake up, a beast in the basement opened a portal from the Abyss of Screaming and attacked. For some reason, Aurellum is cursed and cannot wake from his dreams, leaving Cross, Miress, and Star to fight. The beast (Known as the Serveiant) captured Star and Miress, leaving Cross to fend on his own. He manages to get Star free from the Serveiants grasp, only to get burned alive. Miress escapes by liquidizing herself, and as then, a barely alive Cross and archer Star decapitate the being. The Serveiant falls, and Cross, thanks to Miress, is alive.
Now the four set out again, not knowing of the perils that lay ahead...
There are many more sides to this twisted war than you'd think...
On the border of the Sewers and the Docks, an entire fleet of Dark Hearts comes to capture Star, leaving Cross and Miress alone with a new contender in this war...a woman named Diz (which Cross seems to be falling for her ALREADY). But is she truly out to help the crew rescue Star?
Aurellum managed to wake, hopefully for good. Does he see the deception that lurks?...
Cross' darker side took over and formed an entirely seperate frame, one composed of shadows. Named Exheil, he poised an eminate threat to the group. During the course of the battle, a new operative by the name of A'den is air dropped into battle. Each combatant cannot overwhelm the mighty Exheil, but for some reason, when Cross opposes Exheil, Exheil flees the battle. Everyone is injured, and there seems to be no turn to the situation. But ever so slowly, the group is advancing to the HourGlass Isle.
And so, the five make it to the HourGlass Isle safely. The group seperates to shop a bit and Cross manages to find himself in trouble already. A robed man steals Ghear and forces he and A'den to chase the culprit. When Cross reaches him, he tells him of the four treasures needed to unlock Babylon, that it was he who should, before the Dark Hearts took over. He accepts and enters, followed by A'den. Inside, a skeleton charged on the power of the jewel, Voris, attacks...
But the two, A'den and Cross, defeat Voris, taking the jewel, the Jewel of Ris, back to the boat.
Tensions are rising within the crew, testing Miress' temper (and boy, I do know that temper first-hand) and Diz.
With night falling, the crew splits for a while, leaving Cross to think. As he thinks, the last part of Exheil awakens in him, forcing him to blood-lust for Diz's blood...
But, to the extensive efforts of Aurellum and Diz, Exheil was expelled quickly. Diz and Aurellum return Cross to the boat, where A'den cares for him. When Cross awakens, two pieces of paper and Miress await him in the room as they travvel to the temple sought out by Rhobe earlier. Cross enters an unfamiliar room, and to his suprise, the rooms aura started to tint the papers gold.
As they leave the temple, a boy named Derick, accompanied by his rabbits, Myn and Glun, attack Cross and Miress. The two are easily able to take him down, though Derick retreats to the boat, in search of medical aid from Diz...
Though it was useless. Cross, Aurellum, and Miress approach the boat, forcing Derick to attack. He put up a valiant fight, but in the end, Miress helps him by tending to his wounds. After she finishes, Derick pretends to fly away, instead covering himself in a veil of shadows on top of the boat. Exheil appears to hand Aurellum a ring crafted of shadows, which drives Miress to take it and wear it, its overwhelming power crippling her. Aurellum takes it back, and Cross retreats to his room to sleep. And as Aurellum walks away from Miress, he accidently walks into Diz's quarters...
Little does the crew know of the perils spawned when the ring entered the boat...
