Amy walked into class, her head held high. She was beautiful, popular, and rich, and she knew it. She smiled to herself as she felt the envious eyes follow her to her seat. The teacher wasn’t in the room yet, so she leaned over to kiss the boy beside her. His name was Blake. He was Homecoming King, captain of the football team, and also, her equally popular boyfriend.
“Hey Babe” He greeted her.
“Hey” she returned, putting a hand on his shoulder and staring seductively into his blue eyes.
He grinned at her and rested his forehead against hers. Amy saw movement in the corner of her eye and glanced quickly to her left. The girl behind her, the one with the unmanageable curly hair, thick glasses, and pink sweater, was staring at the couple.
“What are you staring at, freak?” Amy snapped, momentarily leaning away from Blake. The girl, named Lori, forced out a nervous apology.
“I-I wasn’t looking at anything. I’m s-sorry.” she stammered, looking down, aware of Amy’s furious expression.
Amy rolled her eyes, tossed her golden blonde hair over her shoulder, and turned back to Blake.
“What a freak.” she said. Blake laughed.
“Yeah, I know.” he replied, sneering at Lori.
Lori had her head down on her desk, her face hidden behind her arms; her curly hair sprawled over the table. The sight caused Amy and Blake to laugh even more.
A girl with long brown hair and bright green eyes walked into class, carrying a large designer purse.
“Christa!” Amy exclaimed happily, patting the seat of the empty desk on her other side.
“Amy!” Christa squealed. She waved to Blake as she passed and took her seat beside Amy.
“What’s with Freak?” Christa asked, nodding toward Lori, whose face was still buried in her hands.
“Amy caught her watching us a few minutes ago.” Blake laughed, shooting a congratulatory look at Amy. Christa laughed.
“What a creep” she said, making her voice a bit louder so she was sure Lori could hear. The three laughed.
They fell silent when their teacher, Mr. Richard, walked into class. He was short, and thin, and the hair on his head was almost completely gone.
“Bowling ball” Blake coughed. Amy and Christa giggled. Mr. Richard glared at them. Lori sighed.
“Alright class” Mr. Richard began ignoring Blake’s remark. “Today we’re mixing the chemicals luminol, hydrogen peroxide, distilled water, sodium carbonate and copper sulfate pentahydrate.”
“Actually, I was hoping we could make creep repellant” Amy called out. Mr. Richard ignored her.
The school day went on much like chemistry class.
Amy went home to get ready for a party Blake was throwing. She slipped into a blue, knee-length, strapless dress, and a pair of black heels. A horn blared outside. Blake was here to pick her up. She hopped into his red convertible. He leaned over and kissed her after she closed the door. She smiled.
“Got everything?” Blake asked as he pulled away from the curb.
“Yep” Amy replied, adjusting her dress.
Blake glanced over at her.
“You know, that dress would look a lot better crumpled in the backseat.” Blake said, grinning.
Amy rolled her eyes and ignored him. Blake pulled into his driveway. Music was already blaring from the mansion, and colored lights could be seen glowing behind the curtains. Blake got out of the car and opened Amy’s door for her. She got out and he closed the door behind her. Blake wrapped his arm around Amy’s waist and they walked through the front door together. After greeting a few people, Amy went to go find Christa, and Blake went to go drink with his friends.
After dancing with Christa and her other friends for a few hours, Amy went to go find Blake. She found him on the couch laughing with some other football players.
“Hey Babe” he greeted her with a childish grin. He patted the couch beside him. Amy ignored his offer.
“Can you drive me home?” she asked. The guys burst out into drunken laughter. Amy crossed her arms, getting annoyed.
“Blake Lancaster, it is three in the morning and I want to go home” Amy demanded.
“Well, I’m nod in tha mood fo drivin” Blake slurred. He took a sip from the bottle that was on the table beside him. Amy glared at him. He continued to smile at her innocently.
“Fine then” She snapped “I’ll walk”
Amy trudged down the street, still infuriated by Blake’s behavior. Amy’s walked slowed as a white limo pulled up beside her. She stopped at one of it’s many windows, trying to see inside. She assumed it was a family friend, stopping to give her a ride.
A large man stepped out of the door closest to her. She studied his face, not recognizing him. Without a word, he pushed her into the car. Amy didn’t have time to put up much of a fight. The man got in beside her and the limo sped off. There were four people inside, including herself. There were two men in black suits, one on either side of her, and a woman sitting across from her.
“Hey hon” the woman greeted her, blowing smoke from her cigarette in Amy’s face. Amy said nothing.
“What’s wrong wit yous? The woman demanded. Amy stayed silent.
“Diego! What the hell is wrong wit yous? You picked up a friggen mute!”
“I’m not a mute. Now let me out!” Amy exclaimed.
“Ahh, so you talk.” The woman said, looking approvingly at Amy. “Good, good”
