After my first week of teaching Tae Kwon Do, I have these personal notes, that some can laugh at if they want... >_>
1. never sit down unless your'e helping another student stretch, or stretching yourself. ( legs were sore after first day)
2. never put your hands behind your back, it looks like you're hiding something. (The Master kinda dinged me on that )
3. stay calm at all times, and act professional, parents are watching you sometimes.
4. you're going to have to memorize every form up to your rank, get used to muscle memory as well.
5. it helps to be maybe 15 minutes early, that way you can set up a routine for the students for the day.
6. you have to spar without any protection at all (already was kicked in the gut on friday without a chest guard, needless to say, It didn't really hurt, other than a slight shock of surprize)
7. feel free to join in on workouts/ warmups with the students, helps set an example sometimes.
8. don't cuff pants, they're supposed to be longer than you want. but cuffing sleeves is fine, its so weapons don't get caught on them while demonstrating. ( tip given by the Master )
9. reassure and encourage the students often.
10. its okay to use analogies or tricks to help students memorize thier techniques.

Ian's totally random adventures and tales!
Time to tell random, funny, and possibly idiotic stories? Or d&d related things. Luck of the draw.
