" Master Seargent McLothlin, we need a complete debrief of what you saw, how you were injured, and what happened." The general said, with no enthusiasm, he never showed any emotion. I was sitting in a hospital bed, stitches in my leg. " Sir, I followed orders for about two hours, solely terminating enemies as they came, and protecting Lieutenant Keyes. Then when she got to the target building, she said there was something I needed to see. So I jumped down and went to see what she was looking at. Along the way I stepped on a mine, but was running fast enough only shrapnel managed to hit me. That was when Keyes radioed in. The building was filled with dead bodies, and this chemical I couldn't get a sample of. It was grayish-purple, and in syringes in the bodies. Then we left. Everything seemed normal except...." I trailed off, thinking of the bloody, torn up men who attacked their own allies. " Except what?" " There was something wrong with some of the men... They were covered in injuries, some of them lethal, but moved almost faster than me. They attacked everyone, including Keyes and I. They only died when they received lethal injury to the head." I stated, then showed the picture I took, along with one picture of a bloody man tearing his teammate to shreds with his bare hands. Keyes walked in, grinning like always. " You okay Seargent?" " Better than the people who run into me." " You better be, we have another mission, and I ain't goin alone." She grinned, kissing me. I blushed slightly, considering the general was right there, but she didn't care at all.
