There are many kinds of Werewolves, it is so hard to know which way to go. So I will try to explain them all in my own way. For starters lets begin with what a werewolf is. By definition: A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shape shift into an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature, either purposely, by being bitten by another werewolf, or after being placed under a curse. Now that we have an understanding of what an werewolf is, we can move on to shape shifters. You might be wondering why I am talking about shape shifters when I am suppose to be talking about werewolves? Well it is simple because there is a type of shape shifter that is commonly mistaken as a werewolf. As stated before, a werewolf is is human turns into a wolf-like creature, this means that it is next to impossible for them to turn into a wolf. Why..... well it is simple, a shape shifter is a being that has the ability to alter its physical appearance. This also means size and weight can be alter which is why those who call themselves werewolves but then into a simple plain wolf is not really a werewolf. A spell of course is what usually gives a shape shifters its power or in some cases they could be born into a clan of shapeshifter. When a werewolf transforms or goes into its were-form, as i like to say, their size becomes bigger because keep in mind that humans are larger then wolves therefore they would have much larger transformation.
