[ the most important update in the history of my tektek contests ]
Unfortunately, this will be the last TekTek contest I ever hold. I am technically making this decision as a choice, but feel I've been all but forced to make it due to Gaia's ToS & their refusal to ammend their rules in a way that's fundamentally necessary in order to allow TekTek contests to function, since their current rules & regulations actually indirectly encourage TekTek theft, & no TekTek contest can reasonably function as a contest must if the most basic forms of order & regulation simply can NOT be enforced & if there's no way to reasonably ban the most basic, shameless, & malicious forms of cheating.
The fact that I received an official PM warning from Gaia informing me that my response to a user submitting a stolen TekTek to my contest, my response to their abusive & insulting statements directed towards my character, & most importantly -- the fact that I posted in TekTek contests informing the host that a stolen TekTek had been submitting to their contest -- counted as "trolling" & that if I continued doing it they'd ban my account.
Originally I was going to create a big petition against this & do everything I could to encourage Gaia to make a change... But, honestly, injustice in Gaia's TOS is not my responsibility to correct. All the TekTek theft that's been occuring in this contest, & especially the warning I received via PM for "trolling" & the total lack of correct regulation & justice that that warning represented on Gaia's part, have been really infuriating & upsetting me. & I absolutely & completely refuse to let my emotional life be influenced by Gaia in this significant of a way.
I will, of course, see this TekTek contest through 'til the end. & since there will never be an Elyzia's 12th TekTek Contest, I intend to make this contest even more extravagant, since when I go out I go out with a bang, so to speak. Shortly, I'll be increasing the contest prizes & extending the deadline a bit.. I refuse to let the quality of this contest be compromised in any way. I'll continue to hold my head up high & continue to do my best to ensure that this contest is as fun, fair, & top-notch as I always have. This contest will not change, except for the better.
Also, even though Gaia's actions & lack of actions provide protection to people who indulge in TekTek theft, I still of course have all the leverage in the world to render it completely & utterly NOT acceptable in my own contest. I don't want anybody thinking that TekTek theft is anywhere close to being "allowed" here. Myself & fellow wonderful TekTeker friends of mine like eitta seem to always catch TekTek theives & call them out on it, & we will continue to. THIS CONTEST WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE A "NO TOLERANCE" POLICY REGARDING TEKTEK THEFT, & CONTEST PARTICIPANTS SHOULD FEEL SAFE THAT THIS CONTEST WILL ALWAYS BE CONDUCTED IN A FAIR & JUST WAY, & THAT THEIR EFFORTS & AMAZING TEKTEK SUBMISSIONS ARE NO MORE IN VAIN THAN THEY EVER WERE. The rules of gaiaonline.com may be severly lacking in some areas, but the rules of this contest are NOT.
