I'm a bit of a writer, Not really, but I do try. I figure here I might as well put something that might be of some use. Maybe go a bit deeper into what I'm going to write. I'm in high school so of course there's bs I could easily talk about but it's all happened before I'm sure. I could do something terribly cliche that's only been done 2 or 3 million times but I prefer to be more original. What I'm really planning on is a short story or a series to pop up in here. I figure that's mainly what I'll write about but if something does come along that seems interesting in my life (or if I'm having a bit of writers block) I'll write about that instead. About the short story...I may do something pertaining to the day when it comes to Holidays (Happy Easter btw) or just something random and when it comes to the series it will most definitely be fiction, maybe have some creatures littered in there or maybe I'll think of something else but it's going to be fiction.
While I'm at at....Easter: Is it just about the candy anymore or do kids think about what it really means? What does everyone do for Easter?
I think Easter has mainly turned into another Hallmark Holiday filled with candy, flowers and cards. And eggs, of course. I don't think kids come up with the true meaning of Easter on their own. By the true meaning I mean the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I've actually had to set myself aside and take time to think about it other wise I would've forgotten it. I believe my religious family is even concentrating on the candy. I'm actually agnostic and I still recognize it and try to think about it a bit. Being agnostic does somewhat upset my parents but I'm the only one really thinking about one of the biggest religious holidays. So what does that make them?
For Easter we've always had an Easter Egg Hunt for the little ones with the occasional toy thrown in. We have always had a large backyard with a few trees and a large garden that's always played the perfect role for hiding eggs. I haven't dyed eggs for the longest time or even painted them but I've always admired them. Easter for some reason has never been a big holiday in this house even though we used to be practicing catholics.
One thing I wish would come along is easter egg hunts for teens. I would love to have one. What do you guys think? wink
