Here We Are, But We're Still Lost

What Are We? What is to become of us? Are we going to fall away. Allow trenches and caverns To separate our lives? Your voice is like a distant thought, And your face wavers in and out, Pieced and taped together, Incorrect and hazy around the edges. I recognize only the shadow of you. The person today is not the one of yesterday. You're distant, out of focus and out of shape. I do not know you. Only the memory of you.
