Cianel Femond Vroli never thought that he'd live to see today. He and the rest of the Revolutionaries, Aaron's pet name for the group, had been through the pits of despair and back. Military Officers, collecting the Aeons, the many smaller events that happened throughout the journey, defeating Synthesis. He never expected to survive half of the many things that happened but, thankfully, managed to in spite of this.
Syvilt by him, both of them looking through the window and into the nursery.
Pallavi Evangelia Vroli wailed for someone to pick her up; the very noise causing the blunette's heart to clench in pain. He would've bolted in there and comforted his child but the Hospital rules kept him where he was. Fortunately, both for his daughter and his health, one of the nurses had noticed and shushed her to sleep.
His friend had noticed his brief moment of pain, going off the playful smile that covered his lips. b*****d. Cian elbowed the man in his ribs, wiping that expression off his face in the matter of seconds.
"You don't look so good, Syv. I think you should talk to one of the Doctors," the man teased him, his eyes never leaving his child.
... until one of the aforementioned Doctors; the one that treated Pallavi's mother throughout the miracle of birth. "I apologize for disturbing you, Mister Vroli. Misses Vroli requested your presence."
Cianel spared his daughter one last look before leaving her, and his best friend, behind.
He quickly strolled through the multiple hallways of the building, looking for the room that they placed her in after childbirth. Inwardly, the man questioned the chance of getting lost just by searching for his partner and found the idea both annoying and funny. It was with much reluctance that he asked one of the passing nurses to assist him in finding the room, preventing him from having to search for the next thirty or forty minutes.
And, as he walked through the door, there she was.
White, shoulder-length hair clung to her skin from all the sweat. Grey, tired eyes peeked out from below her bangs and the love hidden inside of them wasn't lost of him. Her skin was pale, much more so than usual... he himself paled at the memory of all that blood, most coming from the delivery of the placenta.
Ash Burrows-Vroli was the most beautiful thing that he'd ever laid his eyes on, even just minutes after childbirth.
"Hey," was her weak greeting.
He returned her words with a watery smile, tears brimming in the corners of his eyes. Fayth, how could this woman play with his feelings so easily?
Cianel was never one for crying. He had always been the sort of person that looked on the positive side of things, making precious memories from all of the idiotic things that had ever happened to him and his friends.
However, the petite woman lying in the Hospital bed recovering from just bringing his child into the world could twist his emotions at her leisure. It ranged from making him cry to making him the proudest man on the face of the planet.
She had always had that sort of power over his emotions, in his mind.
He just never realized that when they met in Bevelle, right as Eric sought to unlock his Aeon. Speaking of the Al Bhed man, he needed to contact him at some point in the near future and tell him the good news. Well, him and the rest of the gang.
The Revolutionaries ( hey! Aaron's pet name for them was pretty kickass ) had gone their separate ways after they dealt with Synthesis. He kept in contact with everyone, of course, but they lived their own lives for the most part. Aaron had settled in the Calm Lands with his girlfriend, Caryn or whatever. Naomi was back in Besaid with Zeflin. Kylina was traveling the world alongside Taika; researching Fiends. Amelie and Desta were living at the Moonflow, in a single-bedroom house that the Berserker had built from scratch.
And Eric? The man that brought them all together? He continued his hunt for ruins.
Cianel crossed the room and sat beside his wife, holding her hand beneath the covers of the blanket that the Doctors had covered her with. "How are you feeling?"
Ash returned his smile, having broken through her shell in the course of her relationship with him. "Fine. Doctor says that Pallavi and I can leave by the end of the week."
Beautiful. It was Monday and that left him enough time to clean the apartment and buy the supplies that they'd need. By the time the Hospital released them into his custody, Ash wouldn't have to worry about the slightest thing.
He'd handle everything. Fayth, the blunette promised at least that much to himself, his significant other, and his only child.
Cian blinked as the soft noise of someone snoring broke him from his thoughts. It was at that point that he made the embarrassing realization that Ash had fallen asleep while he was off thinking... Syv didn't need to find out about this, ever.
Knowing him, Syvilt would hold that over his head forever and tease him about being "boring" or something else that wasn't true. He was not boring!
Chuckling, he traced her jawline with his thumb affectionately as plans filled his mind. Cian leaned over and kissed her on the forehead, mentally bidding her farewell as he left the Hospital room. Ash needed her rest, after all.
