Remember when I'd tell you I missed you?
How I would feel so lonely and afraid when I'd have to go...
You kissed me and gave me your shadow, bound it to me as if it could mend to my soul and keep me company...for the longest it did just that, staying with me when I'd cry myself to sleep at night. It was always there...that shadow...but when I'd get to talk to you again it became restless...like it was trying to tear away from me to get back to where it belonged, but I wouldn't let it...shamefully I imprisioned your shadow...although I knew you were becoming further and further away from me I wouldn't let what little piece of you I had slip away...so there it stayed, your shadow, watching me and hating me...pitying me when I started to realize you weren't coming back...embracing me when I started to fall apart....your shadow, just like you, left me...one day I woke up and there was nothing behind me, no one watching out for me...the days seemed darker, too dark for a shadow to appear...because darkness can only follow what light is offered...when you left me, abandoned me, all my light left and with the last tear I shed while crying out your name the last glimpse of light fell to the ground and was gone....
Now I sit here alone and cold...in nothing but darkness trying to forget about the fallen angel that abandoned me and the shadow that vanished...

There was a time when I was given a shadow to always stand by me...I've been lonely since the sun vanished...
