The journey is long
but we'll stay strong...
"..ai!"
Strangers unlikely to meet,
Suddenly comrades in a heartbeat.
"...enpai!"
Who'd have thought three schools
Would altogether be cool?
"NASHI-SENPAI!"
"Hm?" Nashi finally looked up from her handy little notebook in which she makes either poems or lyrics from. As she did, she noticed that the keyboardist in front of her was practically in her face, so she kind of flipped out as she shut her notebook, surprised.
"Were you even listening to the music earlier? We need your accompaninent." she said.
"Oh right. Sorry. Let's start again from the top, shall we?" asked Nashi as she got up from the desk, strapping her guitar around herself as she joined the band.
--------
Later after the band rehearsal, Nashi had received a text on her phone. She flipped it open to read the following message:
'Hey! Please don't forget we gotta go meet up with the others for some... practice.'
Nashi rolled her eyes as she deleted the message before closing her phone to tuck it back in her bag. Yeah, she definitely forgot... Oh well, at least she received a text reminder, right?
"Bye guys, don't forget we're meeting up again early in the morning on Monday. Don't be late." Nashi instructed as she started leaving. The others agreed and Nashi was already on her way.
Ever since everyone had mutually agreed to leave the museum as quick as possible to meet up again at Knarroway Park... Nashi never could have calculated how diversed the group was. Meroena High, Cedar Hill High... and even St. Symphoni. As much as Nashi could have cared less about sports... even she knew of the other two schools. Cedar Hill... probably known better as just a well-rounded school with more advancements on athletic equipments so that the students could at least excel in that department. Nashi was just surprised that the Cedar Hill students weren't all about muscles. Not that anyone would know about that from Nashi herself. Her thoughts are her own and she could speak them aloud if she wants to. But Nashi chose to keep that thought to herself. She wouldn't exactly want to offend anyone. Especially not Karteley. She seemed... funny at times.
As for St. Symphoni... As far as Nashi knew, it was a school for the rich people. Possibly with a more advanced equipments in order to better educate the people within... and that's just about all that Nashi could think of. What's that? Sophisticated people? Well... Other than Lorelei... Wait, even she had her moments of being not so sophisticated... So scratch that idea. St. Symphoni was probably a school for the rich people to perfect their manners.. but from some of the students that Nashi had met... She could conclude that the school was doing poorly. Not that she'd ever say it aloud. Nashi wouldn't want a mob after her either.
Nashi stopped in front of a building and looked up for a moment before releasing a sigh and going in. She went straight to the elevator and pushed the floor button that everyone was probably waiting for her on. As the elevator went up, she leaned against the back of the elevator.
As for Meroena High... Personally, Nashi does all she can to just mind her own business and cared only for the music and those that cared maybe just as much as she did. As for Gabriel and Hakeem... Well, she doesn't have anything against them... but sometimes she did worry about the nerd. It's no secret that Gabriel's an idiot... but there was also the possibility that Gabriel could be a bad influence for Hakeem.
Nashi shook her head as the elevator signaled its arrival. She did talk to Hakeem about it once.. but he said not to worry and that he'd be the one to influence Gabe and not the other way around. He seemed insistent about it too. So Nashi had decided to let it be.
"Do you ever think that those two guys could be gay for one another?"
"G-gay?! What are you talking about?"
"Think about it! They're always around each other."
"Oh please, they only share a dorm room."
"Only? What do you think, Nashi?"
"Oh please. I would know if something was going on, Lori."
And the conversation halted as the guys came back from grocery shopping. Everyone had gone back to practice with their respective weapons... but Nashi knew that Lori wasn't quite done talking about the two guys. The only person that wouldn't be training was just Hakeem as he was preparing some refreshments Kanipanaj style for everyone to enjoy. Or at least, to him it looked like.
Nashi stopped as she made it to the apartment and knocked on it once or twice before she opened the door.
"Sorry I'm late." Nashi casually said as she came in.
"Nashi! You enjoyed my spicy crackers that day, right?" Hakeem spoke with a sad face on as he looked at her. Nashi blinked her eyes at the sudden question before she looked around to see that she had come in... at such an awkward moment.
"Everyone was lying to you, Hakeem. Your food is.. unique." she responded with a smile.
"Thank you! See? Even Nashi can appreciate some spices!"
"Just don't go overboard with them."
"Don't give him a big head."
It took a while, but eventually the ...discussion of Hakeem's unique cooking style settled down as they started training with their respective weapons. ...While Nashi tried to start, all that Razick seemed to want to do was just flirt. With a shake of her head, she just stabbed him right in the middle of a couch between the holes so as to not cause damage and decided to leave. What was the point of training if her own weapon won't even give her advices?
He may have tried to call Nashi back, but she didn't hear him as she left the room, about to reach the elevator. "Nashi! Wait up!" a voice called out as Nashi turned to see Gemma coming.
"What's up?" she asked.
"I'm done training for now... is it okay if I went back to the campus with you?"
"...Sure."
And once they were down in the lobby area, they saw Hakeem and Gabe waiting, looking as if they ran down the many flights of stairs to catch up.
"Hey look! It's Gemma and Nashi." Gabe mentioned with a smile. Hakeem looked up and smiled when he saw the two girls approaching.
"So it is..."
"...What, is there a Meroena party going on or something?"
"Oh no, nothing like that. We just thought that since the two of you were going back, we'd escort you two."
"Yeah right, you wanted to--" an elbow pushed against Gabe's stomach got him to shut up.
Nashi raised her eyebrow at this, but before she could even say anything...
"That's nice of the two of you! Let's go back." Gemma said with a smile.
Nashi shook her head for a moment. Right. The two guys didn't have any... harmful intentions. This group is from Meroena after all.
Once the group had made it back on campus, Gemma and Nashi said bye to the two guys and they separated as they went to their respective dorm. Gemma said bye to Nashi as she just lived further up in the building. Once inside, Nashi put everything away before she sat at the table to open her notebook to stare at the lyrics that she had written down:
’The journey is long
but we'll stay strong.
It never mattered how long it would take,
But in the end, it’s always worth the wait.
As I walk this path, strange things happen.
Strangers unlikely to meet,
Suddenly comrades in a heartbeat.
Who would have thought?
Who would have thought…’
…Who would have thought, indeed.
