The universe is so big that it’s difficult to put an accurate measure on it or to even come close to doing so. In it there are billions of solar systems, and trillions of planets, so many that we can’t even comprehend what could be out there. Even if the chance of a planet creating life, such as on Earth, is 1 in a billion, then there could still be hundreds of planets out there with some kind of life form on them.
There is no way to know if there are definitely aliens out there, or how advanced they are compared to us, but the chances are that there is some other intelligent life out there is too high to deny. So yes, I do believe there’s a strong possibility that Earth isn’t the only planet with life on it.
As for Earth being visited by aliens I doubt that very much. There was one incident during WWII on February 25, 1942 ‘Battle Of Los Angeles’ that seems believable to me. But there’s just not enough evidence to prove what actually happen and it’s too long ago to investigate thoroughly. For all we know, maybe people panic and when they realize their mistake, they tried to cover it by making up a story.
Though in all honesty, it’s very unlikely that aliens had ever came to Earth. The distances are just too vast to make travel viable for anything but the most desperate of reasons. Even then what would an intelligent alien species gain from randomly traveling space, more so when chances of finding anything inhabitable is very slim and/or another intelligent life? Heck, how would they even survive the long distance travel?
Most stories about UFOs are just hoaxes, natural phenomena, and others are just misunderstandings, which could easily be disproved with some logical thinking. When you think about it, if aliens are actually visiting Earth then they must have the technology to travel and survive the trip, possibly among other things. How are people even capable of catching a glimpse of their spaceships? Would it not make sense for them to create a device to camouflage themselves from threats? What about a device that keeps them from being detected by Earth’s radars? It seems like whenever there’s a sighting of a UFO, it doesn’t raise the alarm with the military or the airports.
And what’s the point of aliens abducting people? I find that ridiculous because what do they achieve in doing that? Wouldn’t taking a few people be enough? It’s not rocket science to figure out how humans function. More so, when they do it throughout years and it’s not like human evolved that much physically. Oh, and don’t get me started in a**l probes.
All in all, I do believe that there’s intelligent alien life somewhere in the universe. It’s unknown if they’ll be advance or not. I have feeling that the only way we will know or they will know is that we found out about each by communication. It’s not that far fetch because Earth is constantly sending out signals out into space to see what we’ll get back. It wouldn’t be surprising if one day our signal finally gets a reply. If not then it’s possible that one of Earth’s robotic probes could come across them or even one of there’s finds us.
