This game is just…it makes it very, very hard for me to stay neutral. I don’t want to pass judgement until I see it for myself what it’s like. But with every trailer and new piece of information release, it makes a part of me grow in dislike for it. I don’t want to dislike it but there are certain things about the game that’s raising a couple of red flags for me.
What worries me is the gameplay, characterization and story. Just because the trailers makes it look pretty darn cool doesn’t mean the actual game will be when it’s out. Ever heard the phrase, ‘looks can be deceiving’?
I thought Dead Island looked pretty damn good from what I saw in the cinematic trailer but when it came out it wasn’t as good as it seem to be. It’s not a horrible game and I don’t hate it but it was a disappointing game. It could have been so amazing because it had potential to be unique. They gave us a heart felt, story driven trailer. It made people believe that they were offering us emotional depth with our zombie apocalypse. That’s something that has not been done with zombie games before. But instead we get bad dialogue, repetitive gameplay, cardboard characters, plot holes, and bugs/glitches.
The open world is beautiful and it was fun to bash zombies heads in and all that but the point is, trailers don’t always reflect the game. Sometimes they are way off. Hell, even movies trailers make the movies seem awesome. That’s why people shouldn’t be trusting what they see. I just don’t understand why there are people who pass judgement on what they’ve seen so far. It’s hard to take those people seriously if they already made up their minds about “hating” or “loving” the game.
The game isn’t even out yet. Wait a little more to finally pick a side. In the meantime people are allow to be excited for the game and at the same time, people are allow to be skeptical of it. There shouldn’t be any judgement going on, nor should there be any hating on people’s opinions.
