Appearance:

Arlia appears to be perfectly human with long brown hair that is held out of her face by a loose ponytail. Her hair would be considered stunning if she actually did anything with it. As it is, most would generously call it plain.

Her eyes on the other hand are a soft blue that has the ironic effect of looking right through a person as she tries to decide if she believes you or not. Frustratingly to her, they still seem to entrance people with their shade.

As a skintone, most people would describe her as being on the pale side of peach. Not much to remark on really. She stands at the ever-impressive height of 5'1" and could never be described as well-built. What she can be described as is thin. Not rail-thin, mind you. Just...thin. While she is not flat-chested, said area would not draw your eyes. All Arlia cares about is that her shirts fit right at least.

Her many years within the academy have instilled within Arlia a certain distaste for uniforms and other similar formal attire. While she understands and will occasionally bow to the necessity of formal attire, she tends to dress more casually. You can usually find her in a worn white shirt, a double button blue vest (to hide how worn her shirt is), and a long black coat that nearly hits the ground.

Personality: Stormy.

Arlia has always felt restless and dissatisfied in general with her life. Many people believe the cause of this to be her tumultous elemental nature. She is often described as being quick tempered and short on patience.

Despite these shortcomings she is loyal to those she considers friends. (Even on those occasions when she feels like divesting herself of them....) She tries to keep her temper around them and show more patience. She also tries to keep what she is really feeling from them as well, mostly to not alarm them.

Arlia enjoys learning in general and has a slightly unhealthy curiosity of the world around her. This with her shortcomings tends to lead her into all sorts of mischief. She also enjoys crocheting and reading as a method to calm herself and de-stress. She does a lot of reading and crocheting some days.

History:

Arlia El'Cross is the only daughter of a wealthy merchant family. Due to this, her parents had high hopes for her. They made sure she was tutored by the very best they could afford. She was taught reading, writing, arithmetic, general geography and history. Arlia was also taught proper etiquette and decorum, needlepoint, crocheting, basic cooking, and other skills deemed proper for a lady.

Sadly, Arlia's tutoring did not keep her entertained enough and she would slip away as often as possible. She explored much of the countryside around her town with the other children (and those who appeared to be so). She also caused trouble by stealing from the surrounding orchards/gardens, letting farm animals loose, and other general mischief.

The cause of Arlia's restlessness was discovered at the age of ten when she spontaneously set her bedroom curtains on fire in the middle of temper tantrum. (She did not want to put on her best dress and go to the store!) This prompted her parents to send her to the magic academy, Valefor, to get her innate gifts under control. There she spent the next eleven years of her life.

After her graduation at the age of 21, Arlia traveled the country for a short period of time. She was briefly employed by a Lord Generic, but quickly left his services to pursue a less ... structured...career. Since then she has been moving from place to place, learning and offering her services.
