The day should have been like any other in the year, but this day was Halloween. Nothing good should ever come out of this fateful day and nothing would. Our story beings on the quaint Lane called Tavern in a rather old mansion. No one had every known of a family living there in the house, until the history of the house was told. The story was so horrid people this day still shake in there seats when they even hear the mention of it. We’ll now tell you this story being in the early afternoon of Halloweens itself with the families youngest children…
It was just after lunch an tinkering could be hardly heard off in the small supply closet off the kitchen. It wasn’t a normal noise to be heard in this household, something was amiss for it was almost always quiet. “TALIA! Would you keep your snake under control, she’s trying to bite me again”, spat young Leon towards his twin sister. “Well… move your hand away from Piper’s face then. You’re more blonde then Henry!” taunted back his sister Talia. Both twins being the only children in the house exchanged glances and laughed together, both knowing there babysitter had no idea where they were or better yet what they were doing. The children were dirty brunette’s themselves with eyes so yellow they looked gold. Neither looked like there parents being a red head and a brunette both with sets of blue eyes. No one knew were the children got there looks but oh the gleam in those eyes could put a man into tears. Those eyes though were focused on Talia’s pet snake, Piper as they struggled with there tiny six year old bodies to keep her contained. Once they gained a fair grip on her they began to read from a rather old looking notebook looking for something. Only moments would pass before they found what they were looking for. “AHH! I’ve finally found it Leon!” shrieked out Talia as she managed to pull away her hand and show her brother the line she was talking about. Leon nodded he head and starting handing his sister what the page listed they would need as she added it to a basin they had taken from the kitchen. “Don’t forget to only add a pinch instead of the spoonful”, Leon reminded Talia. After every chemical required was added moments passed as they watched the liquid in the basin finally settle on a amber color. Leon carefully tipped the basin while Talia took a small syringe withdrawing a lethal amount. She turned to look at her brother and then slipped the needle under the scales of her snake. Finally able to release there hold on her they put everything back and watch as Piper starts to wither around like normal.
Once the storage room was cleaned once again the worst thing possible happed, the cook Nicoli opened the door and looked in. The instant the door open Piper’s completion and attitude change dramatically. Nicoli acting fast grabbed the children and left the room closing the door behind him. “What have you children done? What did you do to her?”, Nicoli’s own question was answer as the door to the storage began to creak and groan under a tremendous pressure. Backing up in fear he began to run out of the kitchen leaving the children to there own. The door gave one last buckle before it shattered into pieces. Without warning the children were grabbed and pulled into the now occupied room of Piper.
Nicoli still running in shock rounded a sharp corner in the mansion and almost ran down the maid and the children’s baby sitter Henry. Quickly explaining what he witness, they all decided it was best to alert the house and try to find the children. Henry feeling responsible for not watching the twins to begin with said he would look for them while Nicoli and the main Clarise looked for the twins parents, aunt and uncle. Nicoli and Clarise heading towards the west part of the house almost collided into the back of Paul and Vickie the children’s Uncle and Aunt. Not bothering to give any details other then a snake was lose they grabbed a hold of there hands and pulled them behind as they continues looking for Paul’s sister and her husband. Back at the other side of the House Henry finally came to the corner before the kitchen and almost tripped. Looking down he saw what appeared to be the families dog, but it was only a tuft of fur in a large pool of blood. Feeling nauseated Henry leaned against the wall and closed his eyes to calm down his fluttering stomach. Not taking notice of his surroundings he failed to miss that the blood trail had gone up the wall he was now leaning against. Feeling water hit his face Henry open his eyes and looked right into the deep scarlet eyes of Piper. With only a blink of the eye Piper had taken off Henry’s head with one clean bite with one of her heads the other swaying lightly behind watching. Piper now having already tasted human blood was on the hunt in search for the rest of the family.
On the west side of the house Clarise and Nicoli with Vickie and Paul in tow began slowing down their search still not having found Paul’s sister and husband Melissa and Andrew. “We should spilt up so we can find them faster, I want to get out of here!” began Clarise. “NO! No. No. No. I will not be alone with that snake loose. Who knows what those children did to it.” interjected Vickie. Her husband being smarter shushed his wife and lead her to the back part of the west wing of the house, leaving the front to Nicoli and Clarise. Nicoli being older then everyone was else had already grown tired and needed to rest. Sitting down on a small bench. “That’s odd, Nicoli when did we get a snake skin patterned bench…” started to say Clarise before she let out a scream that was cut short. Piper had found them and she wrapped her large tail around Clarise and snapped her body in half and devoured her. Nicoli shocked in horror was next on the menu as Pipers tail came down on the old man’s head crushing his skull and killing on impact. She left him there for a later meal.
Paul and Vickie continues looking for his sister and Andrew. Finally coming to the houses library they opened the double doors and gasped finally finding them. Yelling at them to get them to leave the house with them, Paul finally noticed blood was coming form his sister’s neck. Just as he saw this a plopping noise occurred, Andrews entire head had fallen into his lap. They were already dead, Piper had finished off almost everyone. Vickie unable to take it anymore let alone knowing all of her remaining family was now dead, walked over to the open window. She looked back at her husband and jumped out of the window. What was awaiting for her no one ever saw, she had fallen right into one of the waiting open mouths of Piper. She had gotten outside and was ready to finish off the remaining members of the family. Unlce Paul being the last one left acted quickly. He ran over to a sword hanging on the wall and pulled it out for protection, Piper taking on the challenged slithered back into the house ready to strike with two sets of deadly fangs. As her mouth began to close around Paul he lunged the sword up, he refused to let go as she shook him left and right. Neither refusing to give up for each death was the only possibility if they did.
To this day no one knows what really happened to Uncle Paul and Piper, but many have theories. You’ll hear little kids say the snake lives in the sewer, and the adults would tell you Uncle Paul beat the snake it was only a story to straighten out their children. The truth.. well you just better watch your back, their just might be a snake roaming around.
