Looking at my clock, it's 9:45. Laying in bed, all I can do is stare at it. I'm tired, but I'm not at the same time. Talking about Dad....I don't know why I let it bother me.....
Mom walks in, after tucking in Vergil for the night. She kneels infront of me and puts a hand on my shoulder,"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Suddenly, a huge bang comes from downstairs. Noises come from the house, I can't tell where, and a low grown can be heard. My mother looks at the door, then back at me,"Hide under the bed as far back as you can and don't come out. Promise me."
She's whispering. I tell her ok and she waits until I'm under. Grabbing a blanket from the closet she puts it under the bed in any open space. I can't see out, but no one can see in either.
I can hear her run out of the room and more noises follow. Noises follow of things falling and other noises I've never heard before. I want to help, I know I can. I want to know what's happening out there, but I promised mom.
Suddenly I hear a scream and a yell. The scream is my mothers, the yell my brothers. Now, silence. Complete silence. Hearing the yell and scream has made me freeze. Fear has taken it's effect and I don't know what to do. I can't sit here....
After a few minutes I build the courage to go out. Slowly walking, I open my door. Laying on the ground is my mother. Blood covers her body and cloths and feathers surround her. I drop while tears roll down my face. This can't be happening. I get up and run to my brothers room. It was obvious that she was dead, but I couldn't come to think of that at the time. Running into his room I see Vergil on the ground. He's covered with blood as well and feathers are around him too. He has Yamato, the sword my father gave him, next to him. I see his chest moving and drop next to him. Lifting his head and shoulders up, he opens his eyes. He sees the tears covering my face. With blood dripping from his mouth, he finds a way to speak,"I'm sorry.....I couldn't stop them....."
I interrupt him,"It's ok, your gonna be fine. I'll help you, everything's going to be ok."
He only gives a small smile,"No.....It's over for me....Get out of here.....I-I love you Dante."
Tears come from his eyes now, which makes me cry more,"I'm going to get help for you, just hold on Verg, please!"
His eyes close before I can finish the sentence.
