3/6/2013 Here I go again on my own! Writing stories and random parody's to songs! Cause I'm bored and stuff and that's all I really know!
A flash of light brought my room into view for a few seconds, as rain and gusting winds rattled the panes of a window nearby. A deep rumble followed, shaking the very foundations of the house. The room seemed darker than normal, so I sat up slowly to cast a quick light spell. I held my hands as if holding an invisible sphere and willed a small floating orb into existence. It glowed dimly at first, then became as bright as a candlelight. Looking about my room, I made out the familiar shapes of my dresser, by the far wall to my left, and chest, at the end of my small bed. Though I noticed something that hadn't been there before, a fine mist and what seemed like webs, scattered about my room. One was close enough that I could touch, but a hand pulled mine back. "I wouldn't if I were you." A voice whispered in my ear, hot breath on my shoulder. I froze, my orb of light disappearing, too afraid to see who the mysterious person was. Just then I heard a hissing from above the canopy of my bed. A long slender serpentine shape slid down the webbing I had been about to touch, curling about it once before slithering back up and above. What had that been? It was long and black, faceless, with a curved jaw full of sharp teeth and a long yellow tongue. A scream sounded, down the hall outside my room, and the serpent reacted, launching itself out my open door. "That could've been you." The voice from before whispered. "Who...?" I started to say, but a finger touched my lips. "We'll talk when we're out of here." The voice said. I turned to see a teenage boy with a fierce expression upon his face. He rolled off the bed, landing lightly on his feet, signalling me to follow. I did so, carefully avoiding the webs. He looked out into the deserted hallway to make sure it was clear, then silently led on. We passed through several smaller hallways, then out into a fogged down courtyard where a horse drawn carriage awaited us. He opened the door for me, I nodded, in thanks, then we were off. "So... who are you? Why'd you save me? And how do you know about those worms?" I asked him outright. "Well... that's one way to thank somebody for saving your life, ask a lot of questions. Anyways, where were we? Oh right, I am Alexander Wrentale and those 'worms' as you called them happen to be my specialty. I studied them some time ago, when I was traveling more. They seem to be... oh never mind... what were you doing in the castle all alone? There should've at least been a guard or two at your door." He said, seeming to lose track of his thoughts now that we weren't in imminent danger. "Well, Sir Wrentale, I was sleeping. That room we met in was my room. And why would I need guards? Do not underestimate me. I would probably be as dangerous as those worms back there." I glared at him, pointing back to the castle when I mentioned the worms. He smirked, sitting up straighter and looking away. I looked out the other side, squinting into the fog behind us, then looking down at my lap when we finally came out of it, the sun's bright rays almost burning my eyes. In fact, the warmth of it seemed too hot for even my skin to handle. Wispy trails of smoke floated up from the parts of me in the light. "So... who are you? Really? Because no royalty I know of begins to smoke and burn in the sunlight." He looked me in the eyes, watching me smolder. I fell to one side, paralyzed, watching as my world faded to black...
What were those serpent things? Who is this Alexander guy? And how does he know the things he does? Most importantly, what happens next? Find out on the next update! emotion_dowant
