I always feel uncomfortable letting people borrow my stuff, especially when it comes to certain people who I know are more likely to lose my things, forget about it and/or damage it. I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like some people don’t follow a borrowing etiquette. Or maybe it’s just something that I only do?
If I was to borrow something from someone else I would always do my best to return it in the same or better condition than I got it and in a very timely manner. It’s my way of showing that I respect their items but at the same time show that there’s nothing for them to fear from me because they can trust me with it. They would be as ease, knowing that I’m worthy and responsible when it comes to borrowing items from them.
But the thing is I rarely ask to borrow things and I would only do so when I have a good reason to do so. At the same time I make sure that I have money to replace the item if something should happen to it while it was in my care. Now, when it comes to borrowing money. HELL NO. I don’t like borrowing money from people, especially if there’s no way for me to repaid them which is why I never ask. And I don’t like it when people ask me for money because I don’t have money in the first place. The last time I lent someone money and they said they will repaid me back, they never did. I consider that I lie and I don’t like liars. Just be honest and tell me that I will never be paid back but I can call in a favor if I ever need it.
Fact: I don’t like borrowing things and haven’t borrow anything in years. I also don’t like it when certain people ask to borrow my things because I know them well enough to know that something will happen to the borrowed item. And when it comes to borrowing money, just no.
