Names And Coincidences
_______When you work for a major retailer...it's best to be prepared for something strange, or weird. Ocassionally something funny or amazing too. Today, luckily fell under the third event. Funny...or at least amusing.
_______Things had slowed down back at the photo lab counter. I was going through the photo orders we had left over from months ago. First I was only looking at the dates. Nothing else really. Not until I had to start calling these customers to pick up their s**t before we threw it away.
_______The first few were your standard names, on par with John, Jane, and Bob. Nothing to sneeze at. Then I picked up a packet labled "passport photos" Of course as that catches me eye, I stop and read the name and number, fingers at the keys, ready to dial. I can't do it though. I put the packet down and stare at it hard a few times.
_______The name is simple...but would anyone believe I was calling for this person? On that packet for passport photos is written "Last Name: Ware / First Name: Annie" My brain has to piece it together. This is like a bad joke. Here, in front of me, I have passport photos for Annie Ware. It seems like a joke but it's very real.
_______Needless to say I had to get my giggles out of my system before I could call without laughing through it.
