ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATED COMPENDIUM OF AMAZING ANIMAL FACTS
An artfully playful collection of unexpected and remarkable facts about animals, illustrated by Swedish artist Maja Säfström.
Did you know that an octopus has three hearts? Or that ostriches can’t walk backward? These and many more fascinating and surprising facts about the animal kingdom (Bees never sleep! Starfish don’t have brains!) are illustrated with whimsical detail in this charming collection.
You really can’t go wrong with this little book since it’s quite simple and to the point. Within the book, each page contains an interesting animal fact (about 2-3 facts per animal) and accompany each one is an black and white illustrations of the animal. It’s a really cute and educational book with 120 pages of facts. It would also make a very nice gift, especially for children who I know would love it. Though I wouldn’t be surprise if some of them will try to colored in the animals.
Overall, I can’t find anything that I didn’t like about this. It’s great and I enjoyed the illustrations a lot. It has me looking forward to seeing more things like this, especially from this artist.
