My Sweet Sixteen Birthday
Well--it happened! Erica turned sixteen!! <3 Tuesday, June 20th, I woke up and realized that it was a special day--unlike any other birthday. The 16th birthday. I felt like the whole world revolved around me! I felt like a princess! {Each girl is entitled to being conceited on one day! lol}
When my dad came home from work at around 5, we dressed up a little nice, and got in the car to drive to dinner. I was thinking about the song "Sixteen Candles", and how we had a 50's/60's Smash Hit CD somewhere with the song on it. I remembered that the CD was in the car, and quickly got it out--slid it into the CD player, and turned the song on. It was so nice--the song started out singing "Happy Birthday...", and my dad and I listened to it as we drove to Nashville. When we got to the city {not too far away from my home}, we went to a fancy Chinese restaurant called P.F. Chang's. It was so cool! Yummy food. And when the waitress brought the check, she handed me a rasberry cheesecake, and said "Someone said it was your birthday". <3
When i got home, my mother had a surprise for me! She drug me upstairs into my room, with my eyes closed. "Open!"
I looked, and saw my bed covered in completely different bed--things! ^^ A pink and orange down and artificial suede comforter and pillow sham, with a BubbleYum pillow, and another pillow, blue and fuzzy, that lit up in seven different colors! It was so awesome, because my bed used to only have my 12 year old quilt and hand-me-down blanket on it, with a hand-made pillowcase. :3 My room looks so cool now!
Tonight, {Wednesday}, right after my youth pastor was done praying, he said that we were going to have a little celebration, for Miss Erica! :33 Then the whole youth group {around 30/40} kids sang me Happy Birthday. My parents then brought out two birthday cakes! A white cake, which read "Happy Birthday", and a Red Velvet Cake, which read: "Happy Birthday Pookie!" {my nickname <3}
All in all, I'd say that this was my best birthday ever! <3 {and hey--Friday's birthday party is yet to come!}
