I've been thinking about characters and their respective LI arcs. Everything is still pretty up in the air at the moment, since I haven't bothered to work on writing in a while.

Arin x Aspen - meet in the Astronomy Club. Aspen is also one of the Eight, and Arin eventually tells him about her task. He assures her that he's determined to pass the year, and Arin becomes less concerned with finding the remaining members of the Eight (and lowkey gives up, cuz Aspen's not going anywhere!). After completion of his task (charting some sort of constellation), Aspen is stabbed to death in the Astronomy Club, sending Arin into panic about two things - one being her s/o of a few months just died and that she wants to find his killer, and the other being that she needs to continue tracking down the Eight if she wants to pass the year. Which brings us to ...

Arin x Nik - more so the "OG" pairing that is hinted at since the beginning. Nik is charming, but he's not really the type to talk about his feelings and whatever. It's noted that he's a little jealous of Aspen, but since he's got secrets to hide, he's not really willing to "open his heart" (or whatever) to win over Arin. Arin has a mental breakdown after Aspen dies, and Nik finally confides that his task is to make sure she passes the year. She takes that as the reason why he's so invested in her task / her in general, and he doesn't object, though that isn't the complete story.

Annie x (Target) - the girl with the neon colored hair and a personality bigger than Annie's. She starts off as Annie's chemistry tutor (the poor arts major has no idea what's going on and why she needs to pass this class to pass the year), and eventually Annie develops ~feels~. (Target), I believe, is the one that explains to Arin/Annie what the Eight is, but shortly after being identified as one of them, she dies in a "lab accident". RIP Annie. She's sad but not as sad as Arin was with Aspen, since they were never really in a relationship (and (Target) was never confirmed as gay anyway). Annie vows to pass chem without her help, and to help Arin investigate the the murders/removals of the Eight.

Min Hyuk x RG (Random Guy) - some dude who's also kind of closeted, I don't know how they meet. I kind of just picture random ogling in the hallway, as all American media portrays meeting someone you're into like this LOL. But basically this guy is bad news. He just wants into their cohort's dorm so he can study Jace's robot design and potentially replicate it (or destroy it, idk yet). MH obviously doesn't notice, because he's just happy to have a guy in his life for once. Yuki is sus. Arin and Annie are sus. Nik is confused because he doesn't know MH wave rainbow flags. Jace is literally never in the dorm, otherwise he'd recognize RG on instant and kick him the hell out of the dorm. This relationship almost costs Jace his task, if not for Arin/Annie's tampering. MH is left heartbroken that he was being used, and a bit shaken. But now he knows the only people he can trust is within the cohort.

Yuki, Jace - ???? Idk what to do with these two tbh. Thought about pairing them up with each other, since they're the super-nerds of the group. But canonically, Yuki should be ace, and Jace should be crushing on random girls who are actually his age, or something. (I can't over-represent LGBTQ since that seems to be something I do too much lately, so Jace has to be straight lmao)
