"Who the hell are you?" Corrigan asked, suddenly appearing behind me. "And do you HAVE a death wish?"
Turning around, I grinned and placed my hand on a ming dinasty vase. "I'm...a distraction." Looking over Corrigan's shoulder at Shalimar, I said, "Shalimar, I want you to turn around and go find your mother and aunt. Listen to what they say."
After a moment's pause, Shalimar turned about and walked away quickly. I reisted the urge to yell after her, "Fly my pretty, fly!"
"Get back here Tynan!" Corrigan yelled, turning to watch her walk away.
Pushing over the vase, I rushed up to Corrigan and grabbed one of his arms. Although he was a foot and a half taller than me and outweighed me by ninty pounds, I easily twisted his magical arm up behind his back and drove him to his knees. "You'll not be stopping Shalikins from seeing her mother."
Snarling as I let him go, Corrigan surged to his feet and attempted to attack me. Every magical attack he threw at me, bounced off. Every melee attack slid harmlessly over me. After a few minutes of useless attacking, Corrigan drew back and said, "You're not human."
"Oh I am," I replied. "And I'm not a mutant either--as cool as some of them are. You just can't touch me because I'm not letting you."
"What?"
"I am everyone that has crossed Dragon's path and everyone yet to cross her path and they are me--just as I am myself."
"You're making no sense."
"Lemme put it in simpler terms--I am your creator. You are spawn of my mind, vomited up from the dark recesses of my subconsciousness."
"So...you're god?"
"I like to think so and a few people seem to think I am, but I am not. There are higher powers than me but none of which you will ever meet."
"Well, Whatever or Whoever you are; you are not going to disrupt my plans."
"Ah but you see, your plans are my plans and I have decided that your plans are not to come to fruition because I am going to end your story here and now...for now...anyway."
Before Corrigan could react, he folded in on himself as though a blackhole had opened from within his stomach and sucked him in. Sighing, I sat down and leaned against the wall. "I wish I knew how I got here. This is seriously CREEPING ME OUT."
