It is a bit intimidating--I would perhaps call it 'daunting'--to return to a place previously abandoned and discover it has changed entirely. This was the case when I climbed back out of the dusty ancient Narisci tomb below Barton Town and ventured an exploratory stroll.
The lock still functions on the door, but I will be replacing it with Xerfalian technology the moment a permanent rift can be opened and stabilized. I will require time and materials to construct the gateway, of course, but those will come easily. In the meantime I have been busy familiarizing myself with the new Gaia. The casino has finally opened, to my delight. I spent far too much coin in there at the time of that discovery.
I went through the pet & creature shops to check the status of some of my old friends, unfortunately many of the stores have closed. Even the Feien shop is vacant (or, more specifically, disappeared), however the oppressive black building across the street has drawn my attention. It has a feel of otherworldly technology about it and a presence of magic hangs around it. Not a stifling presence like the matter in Aralunan, but a presence nevertheless, and one that reminds me of Seamus. I begin to wonder whether this building is related to Empereal and her extraterrestrial adventures, though the edifice itself does not give up its secrets. Perhaps I am merely being nostalgic.
If nothing else, I can count on Dakkron's presence through all of this. He was surprised that his name is shared by a tyrannical Aralunian mage lord, but I believe in astral design and feel that the similarity is not a coincidence. I only hope that the design reveals itself to me before any damage is caused to any party, for any reason.
At any rate, I have rambled enough. There is cleaning to do, technology to purchase, and a gateway to build. I shall have a busy several weeks.
