Release of Kingdom Hearts 3?

Gaming companies are typicaly renowned for milking a series dry by releasing six related games or compiling another sequel too similar and too soon. However, unlike most other role playing games, Kingdom Hearts has what's called legs – meaning after seven or eight games fans would never get tired. If this is true it means the possibility of a third Kingdom Hearts game isn't as unrealistic as you would think, doesn't it?


Kingdom Hearts Anyone?
I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, both the first and second games. Although I haven't had the chance to play Kingdom Hearts 2 (let alone touch it) I'm still greatly intrigued by the hype that surrounds its release. The game is in a league of its own in terms of gameplay and story, perhaps being matched only by only the mightiest of the Final Fantasy or Wild Arms series. I'm not the only one who thinks so, either. You can tell by looking on the net that there's a huge fan following for the Kingdom Hearts series. Based on this, the sales figures (mighty indeed: reaching into the millions) and the longativity of such a diverse series that Kingdom Hearts 3 has perhaps subconsciously already been announced.

If we know Square Enix...
... which we do, Kingdom Hearts 3 is almost perhaps a certainty where official sources are concerned. Although the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 is the attention of the gaming world at the moment, in true Square Enix style we could see another game being announced only a matter of days after the release of its prequel. For example, when Final Fantasy X was released in a matter of weeks after Square Enix announced it's sequel, the first Final Fantasy sequel ever, Final Fantasy X-2. Within a few weeks of the release of Final Fantasy X-2 plans to expand Final Fantasy XI were announced. Square Enix, we can conclude, have a trend of announcing games or upgrades on current projects when they've just finished another project.

Will Kingdom Hearts 3 happen?
Although more information will clearly be revealed regarding the future of the Kingdom Hearts series in the near future it's a fair bet to say it will happen. Based on past behaviours, past releases and the sudden announciation of Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to happen.

P.S. I did not type this. I give all credit of this to Release of Kingdom Hearts 3. I was browsing their site when I saw this and I was all like, "OMG! A Kingdom Hearts 3?!" For I didn't think that they would continue the Kingdom Hearts series. Well, that just means more for me to be a fangirl of! ^^ Hope you enjoy this little report!
