Sus Albedo into a generic DnD medieval type world. Wrote this as a roleplay starter. Ended up having to rp to myself... think I'm picking up writing again tho. Oh, there's cursing and brief blood. Reader discretion is advised?

Lights of many different hues rush by, coalescing into a rainbow vortex in the blank white space left behind from the previous universe's implosion... A landmass assembles in the center of this vortex as it expands outward, continuing until there is a cohesive world. A blue sky, rolling hills, a castle off in the distance... Then the scene changes to a less vibrant world. A place of wooden shack houses, rain, and cobblestone roads... cough cough cough "Ugh... s**t..." A voice says aloud to themself, a figure coughs up a bit of blood into their hand, attempting to sit up. "Where in the...? Ng..." The figure looks around a bit, wiping the blood on their pants whilst looking around. They can't seem to make anything out as it is raining way to hard to discern their surroundings... A light flickers in the distance, cutting through the rain and fog. It approaches from down the cobblestone road, the clopping of horse hooves just barely audible over the downpour "H-Huh?" The figure narrows it's eyes to try and make out the approaching shadow of a horse drawn carriage. They quickly roll into the bushes nearby, grunting in pain as they move. The carriage rolls on by, the driver unaware of the figure whomst was previously on the road. All goes quiet again, save for the rain. sigh "Well that was close... Ugh..." The figure winces, looking down to see a sword-sized bloodied hole in their lower abdomen where they had been stabbed previously. "Sh-s**t..." They grimace, holding a hand to the wound, leaning against a tree. "What a w-way to go... bleeding out in th-the rain..." All goes dark again... Warmth, light, a crackling sound from below... Someone shuffles around the enclosed space. Creaking floorboards and the sound of a small basin of liquid being carried to one's right. A cold sensation on the forehead, a damp strip of cloth... The figure from the rain is there, his abdomen wrapped in cloth bandages, laying upon a bed in the center of a room. He scrunches his face at the sudden cold upon his forehead, then sits up abruptly, skootching away from the other figure in the room next to him. His face a grimace due to the pain from his previous wound, but also suspicious of this person before him. He glances around the room quickly, then watches the person intensely. The guy puts their hands up, surprised at the sudden movement. "Hey pal, I wouldn't move around too much, ya might reopen your wound." He says, setting the bowl of water and small strip of cloth to the side slowly, keeping eye contact with the guy he's been taking care of. The guy in bandages attempts to speak, but it comes out in an unrecognizable language. He inspects the bandages around his body, glancing back at the other, relaxing a little, but still suspicious. "Ah s**t... an outlander... wait here while I go try to find someone who understands you..." The other guy says, pointing at the guy on the bed, pointing to the bed, then holding his hand up as a signal to "stay". The guy on the bed nods slightly. The other guy leaves the room. The bandaged guy relaxes a bit more when the other leaves the room. He takes this time to take another look around. At the foot of the bed crackles a small fireplace. To the right of the bed is the bowl and damp cloth, abandoned on a chair. To the left, a window with cloth curtains drawn shut. A thin shaft of moonlight peaking through the small gap between the two pieces of cloth... The bed itself was covered in soft furs and wool blankets. Everything in the room glowed a slight orange from the fireplace, warm and homey. "Just where in the hell did I end up this time...?" He mumbles to an empty room, sighing, closing is eyes, and rubbing his temples. The man from before walks in at that moment with a lady in tow. The bandaged guy snaps his attention to them, as they walk in with another chair, seating themselves by the right side of the bed. The lady raises a hand in greeting. "Hello?" She asks in another language, seeing if he would respond. He blinks, looking perplexed. She tries again in another language. A similar result. The man from earlier tries to speak the words the bandaged guy spoke earlier to the lady. She nods, finally understanding. She speaks in the guy's language. "Hello? Can you understand me?" The guy's eyes go wide for a moment, nodding in agreement. "What do you people want with me? Why am I here? Where am I exactly?" He asks in quick succession, motioning to the bandages, the room, and them. "What do we want with you? We found you bleeding out in some bushes by the road. We wanted to help, that's why you're here. We've been caring for you for three days, hoping you'd wake up..." She huffed, crossing her arms. "You could at least be thankful." "What's he saying, dear?" The man looked at the lady, unable to understand why she was suddenly upset. She doesn't respond. The bandaged guy glances away for a moment, sighs, then says, "Thank you... I guess..." The lady still keeps her arms crossed, but responds with, "You're welcome. Now that you're finally awake, you can help pay back some of that kindness by helping out around here." She explains this to the man sitting there. He seems to be somewhat against it, but agrees to help show the bandaged guy around. "What's your name kid?" The guy asks. He stays silent, staring into the fireplace. The two others leave the room for now. The bandaged guy lays down, back to the door, on his left side, and falls back asleep for the night. Sun streams through the now open curtains of the window. It seems someone has opened them suddenly. The room is drenched in mid day sunlight, bright and warm... "Up now! Time to help with the chores if you want to earn your stay here." The lady from before says, looking down at the guy in bed. He scrunches his face to the sudden brightness, then glares at the lady. "Oh come now, all I'm asking you to do is help me clean the house a bit. You even get breakfast if you hurry up. Your clothes were rather in bad shape, so there are some old work clothes my husband doesn't wear anymore..." She points to the chair to the left of the bed, folded clothes sitting neatly in the seat. "The restroom is out the door to the left, go get cleaned up. Then you may meet us in the dining area just down the hall. See you soon." She walks out of the room after saying all of this. The bandaged guy sits up carefully, groaning and stretching his arms above his head. "Well this is gonna be an eventful day..." He grumbles, dropping his arms to his sides again. Turning to the chair with clothes, he puts them on, discarding his bloodstained pants for some worn leather pants and a simple old style white shirt. Running his hands through his longish blonde hair, he goes and finishes freshening up. As he steps into the dining room he is greeted with the scents of bacon, eggs, and fresh squeezed oranges. A plate is already laid out for him, the other two already having finished their meals, cleaning up their own messes. "So you did decide to join us? It's good to see you up and about." The man says, sitting at the table again with a book in hand. The boy glances at him, unable to understand, but nods slightly to whatever it was that the man had said. The woman reminds her husband that the boy can't understand their language, while cleaning dishes. The man sighs, shaking his head, then opening his book. Over the course of the next few days, the boy is instructed on how to do chores around the house by the lady. He says very little, but remains agreeable and reluctantly cooperative. Time seems to pass more quickly. Half a week passes as the boy's wound heals fast, his clothes are given back to him repaired, and he is sent on his merry way with a simple rune to translate his language to others and others to his.
