Imagine if your favorite character from a series, game, movie, etc. appeared at your doorstep, asking you to come with them to the world they're from. They seem to think you are their only hope for some situation on the other side. You'd be hella confused wouldn't you? lul

It is a quiet day like any other. My two roommates are both at work. My online friends have all been quiet, no messages from anyone all day, save for a meme from that one. The apartment is finally quiet and I can unwind. So I do this, laying down on my bunk bed. It is a cozy memory foam mattress with a body pillow of one of my favorite characters to my left against the wall. Two pillows lift my head off the mattress, as I lay there on my back staring at the bunk above. I nearly fall asleep...
There is a knock at the door. It is a hurried and somewhat light knock. I ignore it as it could be the neighbor's door being knocked. Another knock, this time louder and heavier, more urgent sounding. Familiar voices speak in the cramped area just outside the door. Curious and somewhat miffed, I get up, grumbling as I step over all the crap strewn through the front room to get to the door.
"Who is it?" I call through the door, keeping it locked and shut. The voices stop bickering amongst themselves.
"Is this the residence of one [insert real name here]?" A familiar soft male voice asks.
"Who's askin'?" I reply. There is an exasperated sigh from another guy.
"Humans are so unhelpful. We know this is the right place. Just open the door already before I have to break it down." The other guy growls angrily.
"Even more reason for me to leave this closed. Either tell me who you are and what you want or go away!" I yell back through the door.
"You should've just let me handle this, puppet..." The first voice grumbles at the second.
"Oh come on!" The second voice growls angrily again. "We don't have time for this! Get out here human, we need you to come with us."
"Yeah, that's not sus at all..." I say sarcastically at the door. There comes a loud bang of a fist on the door, then the two voices speaking just quietly as to not be made out.
"Fine. I'll wait outside. Hmpf." Footsteps stomp down the stairs, the door downstairs slams shut.
"Are you still there [insert name here]? I apologize for my companion... We were sent on rather short notice to your world to collect you... Would you please hear us out and come along peacefully? We mean you no harm, despite the puppet's... attitude."
"And why should I trust you? Especially if you won't even tell me your names?"
"Our names are... complicated. He goes by Wanderer and I have no name. If you open the door, I believe you are familiar with both of us already tho?"
I open the door hesitantly, the door chain in place, not like it'd do much good if they are who I think they are. I move my head to peer out the crack in the door to see a young man with medium length blonde hair, aquamarine eyes, and a soft smile. He is dressed in a long white coat, a blue shirt with cross designs, dark shorts, boots, and gloves, all with intricate designs. My eyes go wide in disbelief at what I am seeing. My eyes glance at his exposed collarbone which appears to be missing the signature four point gold star symbol.
"You...!" I slam the door shut and lock it again.
"Wait wait wait! I can explain why we're here, if you'd just come with us!" He tries to keep me from closing the door, but fails. I hear the downstairs door open again.
"We've wasted too much time. I'm doing this my way." Stomps up the stairs from the other I hadn't seen yet, but I knew who it was before there was a slam on the door.
"OPEN THE HELL UP [insert name here]!!! We're going to Teyvat whether you want to or not!" A strong gust of wind blows under the door as it bends inward a bit, groaning.
"O-okay... just don't hurt me..." I reluctantly open the door to see the other boy with a short bowl cut of deep blue-purple hair, scowling purple eyes, and a large wide-brimmed hat he has taken off and is holding to the side in one hand.
"Now that's more like it. Good. Let's get this over with so Mr. Alchemist can stop bothering me..." He glares at me, reaching forward to grab my arm, then yoinks me out the door abruptly.
"Be careful with them! They are only human after all! We were told to bring them back unharmed." The coat guy says, putting an arm in front of where I was about to fall, helping me back to my feet and steady myself.
"Hfff... whatever... they would've been fine." The hat guy grumbles, looking away and crossing his arms with a huff.
"Are you okay?" The coat guy asks me. I nod, glaring daggers at the hat guy.
"So how exactly do we even get to Teyvat? Last I checked that world was just in a video game." As I ask this, the coat guy pulls out a sketchpad and pen, quickly sketching out an oval on the page. He makes it purposefully wavy at the edges. Holding a hand above the paper, the simple artwork starts to come off the page and grow in size until it is large enough to step through.
"About time." The hat guy grumbles, stepping through first.
"After you." The coat guy gestures at the portal with one hand holding his pad and pen, the other hand held before me as an offer if I needed help. I take his hand and we step through the portal...
It is dark here, but I can see both of my current companions as we drop into even deeper darkness. Stars rush past us as we keep dropping. I look up and the entrance to this place is completely gone. I look down, there appears to be a light at the very bottom that gets closer and larger as we fall. I glance back at the coat guy, grasping his hand tightly. He seems unfazed by this, even cracking a small reassuring smile.
I close my eyes as we leave the dark space, a gust of cool night air blowing my hair into my face annoyingly. We're still falling. There's ground below us, rushing up to greet us. I panic a bit, flailing and gripping the hand I am holding even tighter.
"Heh, afraid of heights? I got this." The hat guy swoops in, getting me into position to hold me bridal style, despite the flailing. The coat guy loses a glove as I am pulled away. We float down gently till we land upon the snow covered ground. Coat guy lands on one knee hard, but seems unfazed.
"Mission accomplished. Can I go now?" The hat guy drops me onto the snow with a thud. We appear to be on a snowy mountain. It is cold here. I can feel the snow beneath me starting to melt, as it soaks into my sweatpants little by little. I shiver, teeth chattering as I cross my arms, trying to stay warm.
"We have to ensure their survival until we get to my brother's camp. Also, don't you know humans don't survive well in extreme temperatures?" Coat guy steps over to me, helping me up, and draping his coat over my shoulders. "There. Hopefully this helps somewhat, since he doesn't seem to care." He glares at hat guy, pulling the coat more closed in the front, ensuring I had grip on both sides. Hat guy just sticks his tongue out, but then he takes his hat off, placing it on my head.
"This'll keep the snow off them for now." He steps away, avoiding looking at either of us, taking the lead. We begin trudging through the snow. I touch the edge of the hat, feeling the designs briefly, then quickly put my arm back into the relative warmth of the coat.
We walk for what seems like an hour as it becomes colder. We end up having to ascend a small cliff. Hat guy just flies on up, leaving coat guy to create a glowing flower elevator upon the ground. He raises us both up the cliff safely. Hat guy stands there, arms crossed in wait. He seems to be watching the snowfall with mild curiosity, before returning to an impatient glare as we come into view.
"H-how m-much further?" I ask them, shivering as most of my warmth has worn off by now. The wet clothes certainly aren't helping either.
"Not much further. If you would help us cross the gap ahead, Wanderer, that would be much appreciated." Coat guy says.
"I'll help them cross. You however..." Hat guy glances at me, then at coat guy with a smirk.
"That's fine. I can get myself across." Coat guy sighs, tugging on his gloves to ensure they are on snuggly.
"Alright, hold onto me human. I'll take you to the other side then I can finally leave these... brothers, to their mountain." Hat guy holds out his hands to me, facing up. I hesitate, but then glomp him, holding onto him tightly.
"Th-this isn't what I had planned. Fine. Hold tight or you'll fall in the ravine and I'll leave you there. I swear." He growls, accepting defeat. Using his wind abilities, we cross easily. On the other side he shakes me off and snatches his hat back. Coat guy follows afterward on a floating flower platform. He seems to be getting a kick out of watching hat guy squirm, a slight smirk at the edges of his lips.
"Well, we're here. I have no reason to stick around. Bye for now human." He walks a path up the hill nearby, disappearing from view.
"And there he goes... what an interesting puppet... I see why brother is so interested in him." He watches hat guy walk away, then turns to me. "Lets get you warmed up properly while we wait for brother to return."
He leads me into a nearby cave where a small camp is set up inside. There are some bookshelves against the walls, a sturdy desk with strange equipment on it, a stone pedestal with symbols etched into it, glowing a faint blue, and a campfire with three chairs waiting expectantly around it...
