Life is beautiful
Happy 20-Year Gaia-versary to me!

I first started playing this game on Christmas Day, 2001-ish. I remember where I was: at my sister-in-law's mother's house in North Carolina; so essentially we spent Christmas day with my brother's in-laws. I can't remember if they were married yet.

It was a new time in my life, my brother had been only my best friend until then, and now there was someone to share him with. Not even shared, really. As life goes on. And this year I remembered the Gaia-versary but where I normally would create a random post somewhere to commermorate the day, I figured I'd create a journal entry -- since my other entries are still here.

Life has changed dramatically since the first day I started on here. Life is crazy.

I'm a mom, now; I was married once and now divorced, and co-parenting is my main focus.

I game even more now, still tapping into my roots, playing Apex Legends. And I stream on Twitch sometimes. I've even changed my Gaia Online name from Whiimsical to Iridescent Sugar to match.

I bought a house and dream car this year... but, Im always worried about the future because of the state of the world (inflation, wars, etc).

My BF that I met through gaming proposed to me a couple days ago...and Im still processing that. He's here celebrating Christmas with us this year and it feels surreal after being alone/isolated for the last 5 years....

I'm happy to still be here after so many dark days. And thank you Gaia Online for helping me get through some of the darkest when I was a teenager. Here is my Gaia-versary check in I hope to leave another one next year!

I will never forgot my sister-in-law's younger brother. I was playing Gaia Online while trying to figure out how to have a crush on an older guy (him). Just a quiet one. He took his own life recently and I pray for healing for his parents and his siblings. I know they miss him every holiday. It's impossible to remember first starting on Gaia Online and not remembering him.
