9/11: My Big Idea for a National Collection Day *^-^*
Just to explain, this is not the same idea thats been going around. I've modified it a little. Instead of just skipping school, a National Collection Day.
A National Collection Day would be to collect acts of good will towards others in memory of the collection of good things the heros of 9/11 did for the whole of America.
They gave back our patriotism, all that we once stood for, and all that we will stand for, for as long as we are a country and until the memory of America vanishes. They may not know all that they gave their lives for, but we will make sure that this day stands as proudly as a Sunday.
For National Collection Day, We collect things like food, clothes, toys, and other necessities for donations, whether it be to a church, or a Goodwill. We'll collect money for those who need a little extra cash for bills, and even a collection of helping hands, as in services to the elderly, like raking leaves. Just think of it as an Arbor Day thing, but something more...needed.
We should do it because we know what those heros of 9/11, WWI, WWII, and all the boys and girls in Iraq who died, went MIA, or are still there fighting for us, did. We know what ALL the warriors of America did to preserve what they knew would give future generations hope and the will to protect what they gave us.
And today, its our freedom, the thing that they preserved for us, that allows us to be able to do this. If you know what those heros gave us and preserved for us, then please send this along. I intend on making this happen, because I know its needed. Its not just a Veterans' Day assembly full of prettily-worded speeches, and its not just signing up for raking leaves just to get out of school and talk with your friends for Arbor Day. Its not a free day off for Memorial Day, and its not the silence they make us do for 9/11. Its actually doing something good for everyone, everything around you.
If I have to do it alone, I will. But please, If you think that this is a worthy idea, help me out. Start collecting and organizing something for the rememberance of ALL of our heros for the day of 9/11, and send this along so others can join too. I know that this is a good idea.
