Rose, having lost all sense of time in the deep caverns under the ground, slept intermittently. She often thought she took naps during her "day" to help her keep moving. But still, the dark was almost endless.
Hundreds of evil and dark creatures she had killed in the week or so since her escape here. She considered it an escape now. Because no matter how little she decided to ignore the voice in her head, it did speak. And although she refused to listen to many points of it, she did agree with one thing. She needed to figure out what was what on her own. Not because someone told her it was so.
It happened though, this day, that she would find that she was not the only person down here.
Rose noticed it slowly at first, when it was no more than less black up ahead. For hours she walked toward it, watching as the light from ahead grew steadily. It was not a red light, as some creatures used for vision, nor a green light as some plants emitted for their own growth, but a white light. She did not know what this could mean, if not the outside. But there was no draft, the air was not lighter nor fresher, and it seemed weak for sunlight- not yellowy enough. She changed clothes again, to ones that, in her opinion, blended most with the walls. She fully intended to sneak up on whatever it was ahead.
But when she finally rounded a corner, and she could see clearly (though her eyes still protested loudly from behind her shades), she dropped her alertness- mostly.
Before her, in the middle of a small cavern which had four tunnel exits, was a huge clear crystal. Rose almost stared at the crystal, because the most interesting thing about it, was that there was a person frozen inside. Rose walked up to the crystal, wanting to touch it. The room seemed colder, and she had to wonder if the crystal was somehow ice.
However, she had failed to see that, sleeping nearby, two creatures were there to gaurd the trapped man. As soon as Rose touched the ice- because she realized that it was ice- she heard what could only be described as a small roar. She turned to face two small green... dragons? They certainly did not remind Rose of any dragon she had ever known, and the voice in her head agreed to that. They advanced on her slowly, each with a dangerous glint to it's eyes.
Rose darted around behind the frozen man, and the dragons split up to follow her.
That was brilliant.
'Oh, shut up. Unless you have any bright ideas?' Rose thought back.
Just one.
And with that, Rose sat down. And was confused, as she didn't make herself do so. But, then again, the voice in her head agreed that she had. However it happened though, when Rose sat down with her hands folded in her lap, the small dragon creatures stopped. And they watched her.
'Great. Now what? Got any more brilliant ideas?' Rose asked herself, but got no answer this time. Instead, she saw a small pack near the wall. It had to belong to the man, and it might aid her in rescuing him. Which, for some reason, seemed the thing to do.
But how to get it without moving, which would seem to aggravate the dragon creatures?
to be continued...

these gwees are, more specifically, magical creatures that are dragons, but are less than, say, Dragon Student and Shalimar.
a more specific definition will be provided following the next entry, to avoid spoiling many things.
