Rilla heard the footsteps approaching. And the sound of moving weapons... maybe along the floor. They had come, then, to finish off the evidence. Rilla was ready and willing to die to give her worlds a good excuse to annihilate this dragon once and for-

Suddenly, Dragon spoke, and the immense pressure pinning them to the floor was lifted.

Rilla jumped to her feet (with the aid of her wings, of course) and stood, wand pointing directly at where... Dragon should be. But, she wasn't. About three feet lower than Dragon, in her human form, should have been, stood Dragon. Her features were odd... almost, squished. And she was about the same height as the fairies. Rilla thought it a ruse.

But Dragon raised her empty hands in the air, and said, "Forgive me. There has been a grevious misunderstanding that I am more than happy to explain."

Jirian and the other Crusaders lowered their wands. They had been slower getting to their feet but had known at least enough to put their wands up. Rilla's face flushed, knowing that they were possibly being stupider than they looked. Lowering their wands in the face of a known danger. Useless Crusaders.

"I hardly think I would fall for such a ruse. However, I do expect that you don't like the ships that are doubtless amassing around your hull with their weapons armed right now. And I suspect that you hope I would call them off." She paused. "But then you'd have to kill me, wouldn't you? No. I don't like that plan. Let's try another."

Aiming slightly past Dragon with a small flick of her wrist, Rilla sent a small flurry of spells past Dragon into the group behind her.

Taran fell down on his knees, and then slumped to the floor. Niko fell, stiff as a statue, and clanked onto the ground. Tuli vanished in a small puff of smoke, and Jaa was suddenly about two inches tall. A spell pointed at Rose, however, bounced off of her, and rebounded onto one of the Crusaders behind Rilla, who became immdeiatly covered in flames.

Rilla smiled, only the corner of her mouth turning up, as she looked at Dragon, now without much of an army behind her.
