Today was my first day of working at the Eastville Inn (it's a restaurant, not a hotel). I had to start from the bottom which is, of course, the dishwasher. Little did I know, there is even a heirarchy in the dish pit. I'm actually under the dishwasher, I'm the lowly pot scrubber. It's a pretty simple job, get pots, scrub them, rinse, sanitize. Like you would expect, there were times where nothing was going on and times when it was busy. One this I learned very quickly was that if we're busy, I shouldn't grab the dirty sizzle plates with my bare hands unless the other dish pit guy sprayed them with cold water first. I got off work a little after 10, but didn't leave until almst half past because this one group of people WOULD NOT LEAVE. They finally left and then I got a ride home with my boss.
